Blizzard swooped in with a few quick Anti-exploit hotfixes today, aimed to close some loopholes in Blood Shard and legendary acquisition that were enabled, or at least greatly incentivized, by Patch 2.0.5.

Official Diablo 3 2.0.5 patch notes have been released by Blizzard. The patch is going live in the US now and will be live on EU tomorrow.
Diablo 3 Patch 2.0.5 is on the servers and will be active later today when the server downtime ends. There was no hint of it in the realm maintenance post, but an EU CM gave some hints, and the patch is being datamined to give us hints of the contents that have to tide us over until the official patch notes go live.

It’s been a couple of weeks since Blizzard spoke of the changes planned for patch 2.0.5 but this morning Game Director Josh Mosqueira stirred to confirm that the two stars of the show Tiered Rifts and Ladders are coming along and will be debuting on the PTR. No word on when the PTR is going to happen.

If you read the developer interview we posted yesterday you may have seen one of the last questions addressed the simple socketing system in Diablo 3, asking if there were plans to build on it; will it evolve into something more complex and tactical.

At present the content of a Horadric Cache is not affected by the difficulty level you were awarded it on. Complete the Bounty on Normal or Torment 6, it matters not a jot. This encourages split farming on normal difficulty for groups to speedily collect caches and hopefully desirable loot. Blizzard has recently said that is definitely not the style of play they wanted.
