As I type this, Diablo III’s launch is 26 hours away for fans in the US. It’s only 19 away for fans in Europe, and 10 for fans in Asia. We head about those crazy Swedes waiting in line all week, but that was just a few friends who’d probably just been kicked out of the house by their parents anyway. Thanks to Shanda for pointing us to Korea news that shows huge crowds gathered, hours in advance of the launch time. (Or maybe these are just reused pics from the last Starcraft game launch there. I wouldn’t know any better.)

Bashiok has been out in force recently, answering questions around the official forums. A few topics of interest have come up, one of which I can speak to personally. The three topics are regarding enrage timers for bosses, potential CE copies at the midnight launch in Irvine, and gear-checks in groups for Inferno.

Tuesday May 8th, Best Buy will hold a Developer Chat with Jay Wilson, Jason Bender, Jason Regier and Kevin Martens and will take place at Best Buy’s Community Forums. Hopefully there will be a good bunch of intelligent questions asked and answered, not like most of the questions asked of Bashiok when he had his Community Twitter Chat.

So, midnight local or midnight Blizzard’s time? A question lots of us are asking. Who gets the jump here? Blizzard have issued clarification that clarification will be forthcoming once they have… um… clarified it amongst themselves.
