Zealot Weapons, and repair cost?

I've never played a Zealot before, but they looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to build one myself.
So far I've been doing alright, I have some decent mid-game gear and everything, I kill everything on Normal without problems and I'm ready to move to NM.
The problem, however, is this: I'm currently using the Hand Of Blessed Light (I found it with one of my other characters, so I thought I might as well put it to use) and while it's damage is excellent, doing Baal on Normal means that repairing the damn thing costs me 15k or so, which is far more than I manage to collect in that small amount of time.
Is this ridiculous amount due to the +2 to skills on the weapon, or the + to Holy Bolt and FotH? If it is, I'll just have to look for another weapon to make it through NM, but if all good/decent weapons cost this much: how on earth do afford this? I'm currently not wealthy enough to afford phase blades or Schaeffer's Hammer, and I'd hate to get stuck on something as trivial as this.
Any tips/help would be highly appreciated,
