Zealer Armor

Re: Zealer Armor

I would go with Guardian Angel vs. elementals.

Against melee though, the DR on shaftstop is preferred.

Overall, I would go with Guardian Angels though.

I wouldn't use either, especially if you are low on resists. I'd make either a Lionheart or Smoke runeword if you are on a budget.

well duress is good and underrated and not too spendy plus it has resists and crushing blow, good enhanced defense, enhanced damage ( not much ), and like 45% faster hit recovery.

but for the poorer than poor like me Duriels Shell is a good choice you could get with a handful of p gems.

if you are richer than snot though i would say fortitude or maybe chains of honor prehaps (if your resists are bad)

guardian angel is great but it itself doesnt have resist on its own though the max res bonus it has is simply great.

shaftstop dont have resists either but you could um it i guess. but i think damage reduction is the biggest myth in all of d2

oh i forgot, smoke some armor if resists are a problem. all res +50 sure is great

Re: Zealer Armor

So i managed to make a 'rhyme' crown shield which has 57 to all res, which is spectacular... then i noticed that it only has 58 def. Is defense super necessary for a PvM zealer?

Maxed block eliminates 75% of all incoming physical damage (if you're not running). That's not a bad shield. It's nice to have a big defense rating to mitigate that other 25%, but block % is the first line of defense.

If the shield is doing good things for your elemental resists as well, keep it. I'm sure you're enjoying the Cannot Be Frozen mod, if you don't have it already.

Re: Zealer Armor

Thx for the tip on the shield. hmm i don't know how much resist i'll be needing. Of course 75 to all is nice, but is it necessary? I find on my hammerdin that having 90 to all is such a boon since you don't leech, but if you have enough resist to surive 6 or 7 hits, then having the leech to make up for it should be fine right?

Elaboration, pls. There is no myth about DR AFAIK. It is well tested and it works just like it's supposed to.

well i once had like 30% i think or so. anyways i managed to almost get one hit killed by a monster once with 30% dr and 1500 life, how does that work? 1.3k or so life gone in one hit? :scratchhead:

but... come to think of it, i think i was cursed.. so maybe damage reduction works, or maybe i just cant tell when i am getting whacked for 1000 life at a time. but i guess everything hurts alot more when you are cursed no matter how much damage reduction you have

What was the curse? IM=instadeath to melee builds, Amp is a big killer too, almost totally negates your physical res.
