I've been planning out my zealot too. Definatly max Zeal's synergy Sacrifice. And you want at least 1 point into Vengence for Physical Immune's. On the defensive side of things you'll want a point into Remdemtion and Salvation.

For me anyway thats it for the core build.

That leaves you with 8 points to spend with a character @ lvl 90

Things to consider, Defiance gives a 15% bonus to HolySheild Def. (it;s the synergy) and Blessed aim gives 5% passive attack rating per point actually spent into it.
I;ve think of using them in one of these combonations.

+4 to Blessed aim (gives 20% passive att rat.) and +6 to Defiance ( gives 90% to Def)
or
+2 Blessedaim (10%) and +8 Defiance (120% def)

I also was toying with the idea of giving those remander points to Smite. With my set up I have +4 to all skills and +2 to combat.
Smite with 1 point gives me lvl7...Current Skill Level: 7
Damage: +105 percent
Stun Length: 1.8 seconds
With +8 Smite
Damage: +210 percent
Stun Length: 3.2 seconds
I think it's a decent breakpoint since those 8 ponits basically double the smite damge...........

+2 Blessedaim (10%) +8 Smite....or even boost +2 blessedA +3 dediance +3 Simte.

anyways hope this helps.

even for zealot i would suggest max smite/zeal/fanat/holyshield and remaining to sacrifice after 1 point wonders.

for bosses or ubers 1 point smite is enough if u have godly items, but if not, then shall just wait them to fall down for a long time with zeal.

i would ignore smite. with maxed holy shield you have enough damage in it anyway, the best way to improve it further is by adding crushing blow.

max sacrifice, get the 1 pt wonders, and put 6-8 in blessed aim for the atk rating bonus.

Depending on the intended purpose points in resist lightning can be useful for the passive max light res bonus.

I skilled my paladin as follows:

Fanaticism - 20 points
Zeal - 20 points
Holy Shield - 20 points
Vengeance - 1 point
Defiance - 18 points
Vigor - 1 point
Cleansing - 1 point
Redemption - 1 point
Smite - 1 point

All the other points I needed to use to get those skills.

Base build is max zeal, sacrifice, fanaticism and holy shield.

And one point wonders.

Vengeance doesn't work with grief because vengeance doesn't work with "+ damage" on the weapon. If you don't use grief, vengeance can be useful though (with 1 point).

Remaining points can go into defiance for the HS synergy or resist lighning for the max resistance

I like to use "Steel large charms of Dexterity". Spares the points in blessed aim and in dexterity.

with a load of semi decent gear I would already have enough AR to kill at hell. Remember to hit % is largely based on clvl vs mlvl so you just need to level up and you'll be able to hit with maxed zeal and fanat. Also something like a lightsabre is cheap and easy to get and has that godly ITD which can help you along till you're lvl 85+ at which point you should use something else like azure or one of the runewords.

I ever had problems hitting uniques and superuniques. ITD doesn't help in this case and for normal monsters IDT is redundant because of the attack bonuses of zeal and fanaticism.

With my inventory full of Steel large charms of Dexterity I have ~13000 AR and an ~80% chance to hit Bhaal. That means that 20% of my attacks still does not hit him. Together the "zeal bug" it means that calculative every fifth attack does not hit and I am missing five hits all at once. With a lower attack rating it's a lot more. Connected with the zealot's essentials of crushing blow, life tap and leech, AR is one of the most important and underrated attributes, I think.

In addition to this I am sparing a lot of points in Dexterity for getting the maxblock because of the charm's dexterity bonuses and can put them into Vitality.

If I made a mistake, please feel free to correct me. :)
