You might want to read the 1.07 guide for a hint. Oh, wait, it was written by some guy named Repusz... what a coincidence.

Even if everyone is saying that this is a waste for a merc (which I think it is, I usually use my mercs for tanking purposes) this would make an excellent spear barb weapon.

    My highest damage weapon:

    Soul Song
    Stygian Pilum
    Throw Damage: 87 to 319
    One-Hand Damage: 58 to 273
    Quantity: 56
    Required Dexterity: 112
    Required Strength: 118
    Required Level: 48
Javelin Class - Normal Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 87
    Fingerprint: 0x41d554e
    +316% Enhanced Damage
    +256 to Attack Rating
    +7 to Maximum Damage
Adds 1-2 cold damage over 2 seconds
+7 poison damage over 3 seconds

    ...yeah, I'm poor :)

    -EDIT-
That's a ladder only runeword, you do realize this is the Single Player Forum, right?

There is a mod that contains the new ladder only runewords and some members here have used it. Also welcome to the forums.

Ah well that all makes sense now. Thanks for the point in the right direction :).

    Blood Gnash
    Great Maul
    Two-Hand Damage: 204 to 312
    Durability: 51 of 60
    Required Strength: 99
    Required Level: 48
Mace Class - Slow Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 87
    Fingerprint: 0x359d9e8d
    +439% Enhanced Damage
    +224 to Attack Rating
    Adds 1-3 fire damage
    8% Life stolen per hit
Hit Causes Monster to Flee 50%
    150% Damage to Undead

If I find myself with an excess of um runes, this will turn into 126-970

Not useful for much, except the cool factor

Well, it isn't the highest damage weapon I have, not by a long shot, but the damage isn't that bad when you consider that it is a one hander.

    Griswold's Redemption
    Caduceus
    'OhmOhm'
    One-Hand Damage: 200 to 241
    Durability: 48 of 70
    Required Dexterity: 56
    Required Strength: 78
    Required Level: 66
Mace Class - Fastest Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 86
    Fingerprint: 0xccb7261c
    +8 to Strength
    +415% Enhanced Damage
    Adds 2-7 fire damage
    Requirements -20%
    40% Increased Attack Speed
    350% Damage to Undead

    ***Partial Set Item Bonuses***
+2 to Combat Skills (Paladin Only)
    +10 to Minimum Damage
    +20 to Maximum Damage
    ***Partial Set Item Bonuses***

    Socketed (4: 4 used)

On character the damage is even higher with the rest of the set bonus's which add another 10-20 points of damage. 230.5 average damage. Not bad for a one hander that hits 8fps normal attack speed.

Gee, maybe I should keep it to myself, seeing it is such a "waste" of two Ohm runes and two 40% ed jewels.
Maybe people should realise that this is just a game and the player/owners can do what they like with the items they find and trade.

    Like this for example;

    Gemmed Wirt's Leg
    One-Hand Damage: 27 to 42
    Durability: 66 of 66
    Required Level: 50
Mace Class - Fast Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 76
    Fingerprint: 0xf3d97459
    Quest Item Difficulty: Hell
    +25 to Minimum Damage
    +34 to Maximum Damage
    150% Damage to Undead
    Quest Item Difficulty: 2
    Socketed (3: 3 used)

Like I said. We can do what ever we like with our items, put them into what ever we like. Can everybody stop nit picking at one another's choices and get back to what the thread is suppost to be about, posting of high end weapons and related discussion and not diss peoples decisions simply because they are different to what you would do.

    Ok?

Yea thats what they said about my zod.
Well i wouldnt consider ohms to be uber rare, just very hard to find. But ive now made my CoA and ive already said that i wont be wanting chaos claws any time soon, so why the hell not?
And that rare thunder maul would be so damn sick that it would probably convince me to actually make a build based on 1 item, which apart from the underpowered builds, i have never done (considered a wolfbarb a couple of times though)
EDIT: asamodeuos (sorry about the sp34llign), thats what im like. Wirts leg, pwn 1337!

Yah, but no matter how many Ohms you can socket, it is not going to beat my Death Star!!! Mine is even better than Durf's.

    Nice weapon FB!

I completely agree with your choice. I would make a gloom or a stone runeword in an ethereal armour, just to give to my mercs. I will make one as soon as i have the runes, and a suitable armor.
Since 95% are act II mercs, i also have an upgraded 194% ED ethereal hone sundan. Just with a single shael at the moment, but that already means i can forget beating your damage. So i won't post it, but excellent weapon.

    Congratulations,

    Gouda

Just found this and thought it deserved a post in this thread. Now, what to socket it with?

    Bonehew
    Ogre Axe
    Two-Hand Damage: 174 to 902
    Durability: 26 of 26
    Required Dexterity: 75
    Required Strength: 195
    Required Level: 64
Polearm Class - Very Fast Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 87
    Fingerprint: 0xa07304c0
    +316% Enhanced Damage
    30% Increased Attack Speed
    Prevent Monster Heal
50% Chance to cast Level 16 Bone Spear on striking
Level 14 Corpse Explosion (25/30 Charges)
Ethereal (Cannot be Repaired), Socketed (2: 0 used)

Depends on the amount of IAS needed to make the next breakpoint for your merc considering all sources (weapon, armor, helm) as well as other factors like the need for life leech and so forth.

There are IAS tables factoring in what base weapon you are using ... and I got this one from sasja's Meteorb guide (but you can find these tables all over the place) ... this one for Polearms with base speed 10 (Ogre Axe, Colossus Voulge, Cryptic Axe - or their normal and exceptional counterparts):

    % ias frames per attack
    0 9
    5 8.5
    11 8
    22 7.5
    35 7
    56 6.5
    92 6
    147 5.5
    292 5

So, you already have 30% IAS on the Bonehew which means that 5% more IAS makes the 35% BP at 7fpa.

Another 30% IAS will make the 56% IAS or 6.5fpa. Another 65% IAS to make the 6fpa.

Of course, the faster you attack the more damage over time and the more life leeched you get assuming you have some source of leech factoring penalties for NM and Hell difficulties.

Personally, i'd probably stick in an Amn rune for the leech (you absolutely need leech in Hell and preferably a ton of it considering the penalties) and stick in a 15% IAS jewel with extra mod on it, like a 40% enhanced damage/15%IAS jewel ... if you have one of course.

Slap in an Andariel's Visage with it's inherent 20% IAS, +2 skills, 8-10% LL, huge +str and other great mods and you've made a very nice endgame setup. Socket the Visage with a +30% (or close) fire resist jewel with extra mods (rares can spawn with great mods) and you've made up the only bad thing/stat about Andy's.

This will make the 6.5fpa breakpoint. You could try to make the other BP but it's probably not worth it since you would sacrifice way too much to get there.

Other sources of Helm IAS are Stealskull ... and not much else. Stealskull is a nice helm too but only 10% IAS. There are sources of armor IAS but offhand there's nothing that's endgame though. Twitchthroe is the only one that comes to mind and it's 20% IAS iirc.

Nice weapon. Of the many billion Bonehews i've ever found i've never gotten an ethereal one. I've found ~ 3-4 Reaper's Toll in my time and two of them were ethereal. I've found one Tomb Reaver and while it wasn't eth it had 3 sockets. Go figure this strange game.

Np. Guess I have to make a wirtadin now. Should I have put some 40/15% jewels into it instead? I could empty the sockets easily enough, All it takes is a Hel rune and a town scroll. Who cares about the jewels as long as I get to keep the uber 3 socketed wirts leg!

Can you upgrade wirts leg to except/elite? I should try it. Only needs a Ral/Sol/p emerald and then a Lum/Pul/p emerald to get it to an elite. Wirts leg is a unique weapon after all, so it should work.

    Then I could personalize it!

Yeah! why the heck not!

This is the most damaging weapon I´ve ever used on a character (not taking such things as attack speed and Crushing Blow into account):

    Cruel Champion Sword of Worth
    Two-Hand Damage: 270 to 314
    Required Dexterity: 103
    Required Strength: 163
    Required Level: 57
    Item Level: 81
    +279% Enhanced Damage
    +1 to Minimum Damage

The late Sapphidia (sword-amazon) used this from Hell Palace Cellar to the 3rd last of Tal´s Tombs, where a 4-socketed elite sword (also a Champion Sword) finally dropped and she could make her mighty 'Passion' sword.

I'm more interested in your runes.

From my head: Ohm, Ber there, any planning to make decent use?

Um, Ist, Far, Lem, you can make some really good runeword with these 6.

I'm almost postive he plays bnet, which would explain all the high runes.
