WW/trap? or WW pure

Just to be sure, higher lvl of traps (more damage) dossent stun better right?
funny you should ask, discussion at the Barons Bazaar just drifted by this very topic.

testing by w1zAd3pt indicates that so long as damage is applied somewhere in the damage resolution phase, even if its later healed by integer sorb in the damage resolution mathzoid bizzo, then hit-recovery would be induced if the swirlies from mindblast (shockwave/smite/stun etc) were active.

even if no damage is taken whatsoever, eg: sufficient amounts of idr/mdr which simply negates damage, then stunlock will still initiate.

in short: no, higher traps don't stunlock better.

Thought so! It would really confuse me if it wassent so.

Here is a question for all you skilled trapper/ww hybrids.
How often do you find yourself using traps for actualy doing damage?
And how often do you find yourself just using traps tu stun-lock some one, making them a easy prey for WW?

Unless SORB, every damn time =)

this all comes down to how much sorb your opponent is packing.

lots of sorb = switch to pure fire-traps & player ww/kicker

modest sorb = play as per usual

no sorb = ezpk

I use LS usually against all kinds of paladins and barbarians for damage.

against most casters I find it pretty hard to hit with LS-only, or to traplock with LS.
That's why I usually use a lot of wof against casters and only drop a ls sometimes when I feel they're playing sloppy and not taking care of traps/concentrate on my whirlwinding.

I am lazy... Plus, I have a limited number of fingers, and can't find room for a second trap in my hotkeys. I just go for mindblast locks and trap/tele-whirl from there against casters... Unless they are sloppy, then I tend to trap kill them...

hmm I got hmm wait... 10 hotkeys that I need in almost every duel, those don't include bos, fade, bc, bo and venom; and they don't include my hotkeys for characterscreen and inventory window, which I sometimes use against defensive trappers or so (you will be able to trap over ~1 1/4 screen instead of 1, which often suprises them).

qwerasdfgyxcvb are all easy to reach with your small finger on shift, imho.

Just tested that a little... wow... I don't think we should let that get out. He he... I think we use the same hotkey setup.

Thanks for that tip.

should I edit it away? hehe

np for tip ^______^

Ps. it also works with tele if you need to get away fast, but it's hard to control and needs a lot of practise.

I can see that it will need a LOT of practice to use consistantly... I think, like you, I will reserve it for defensive trapsins...

yeah, in a fast game where you have to chase your opponent or you are being chased, it's pretty dangerous.
This technique can only be used effectively in calmed down situations, e.g. when dueling defensive trappers.
Still cool thing I find =)
