hi guys!i am looking to make a ww bva barb and so far i have arreats draculs dungos 2 raven h lords and gore rider and stormsheild do any of you no wat to sugest insteads of these and wat armour and wep i should use it would be a big help thanks

a BvA is just a BvC who's added some dex for shield block.

unless you have some godly gear, i'd suggest you just build a BvC.

Id make a bvc instead. as meph said a bva is a bvc with some stats invested, which would allow you to use a sheild.

But only time a sheild would be an advantage is vs bvb's where u got no chance anyway

But the bVc IMO is the most expensive build to equip. why even build it if your gonna use stuff from the low-budget counter:shocked: any thing less than godly gear and a stash full of secondary equipment needed for a bVc or bVa for that matter, you gonna wind up spending more time chasing your corpse down than you will learning how to master any of the techniques needed to play the bVc build::undecided:

u can make a decent bvc for about 10hr.

Sure to get all the best equipment, its gonna cost around 300. doesn't mean you need to spend that to make a decent one though.

Just out of curiosity how many 3/20/20 sc's were you able to get for 10 hr's and still afford "decent" Grief/Beast zerk's....Enigma...Torch... anni.........

well barbs r my fave chars. so ive spent about 200hrs on him so far. but its not needed to make a decent bvc.

20/20/3's r overated. sure there nice. but there not needed unless ur vs a gg smiter. plain 20lifers or even 18+lifers will do well.

U can pick up a 1sock coa for a couple of hrs and alot of ppl will say areats is better than coa most of the time anyway.

Sure if you've got all the perfect gear, then your going to do better. but its the same with any char. 4 example u dont have to have 9 45life pcombs to have a good hammerdin.

And CoA is almost always default helm to use in pubs there is just not much room to use arreat unless vs casters and even then a guillemes face is nice to carry in a setup vs bone necs and hammers.

actually, bvc's benefit a LOT from res/life sc's.

and it's rarely a BvC needs angelics (vs high-def smiters is about it really). a Highlords is the preffered BvC ammy.

Let's not forget to mention the set of Fortitude that your gonna need on occasion, oh yea the Spider as well for the added FCR and skill bonus. 2 perf. ravens/highlords still can't come close to the insane AR that Angelic Ammy/ Rings provides...

My point is this, if you're a Barbarian lover like myself (I even have a old-school pike barb' that has a perf-EBOD war pike and rends, metal ammy etc. I use for pVm and Ubers!) and your gonna spend the time it takes to build and then actually develope the coordination it takes to do this build justice in pub duels. IMO it is one of the, if not the most expensive build:soapbox:!

All u guys are saying u need all this gear. but the point im making is its not needed!

Yes its nice to have and yes it will imporve your character. But even without 3/20/20's ull kill alot of chars 1-2 hits. I'm not disagreeing that barbs are probably the most expensive build to make with the best gear, but thats not what this argument is about.

And sure coa is the prefere'd helm for public duels because of the mass range of chars and the dmg reduce. But the point I was making is arreats is used alot of the time and this is dirt cheap (pretty much same stats, just no dr).

and ur mentioning extra gear like fort...??? Only advantage with a fort is vs a smiter and bvb. but smiters are easy anyway when u learn to play tactical and a bvb u got no chance vs.

But if you just want a general decent character. U can get avg items and do well with one.

Fort is for prebuffing level 15 chilling armor (+115% def). Enigma after you've got the buff.

So you're telling me you waste 6 slots in stash just to prebuf chilling armor LOL? You do that, I get +90% def from the +9 warcry items I can fit in the same space if I felt like wasting time zzzz

Step 1 - Equip Fort

Step 2 - WP to cold plains, get hit, WP back to town

Step 3 - Swap fort in your stash with whatever charms you need in your inventory


I can understand how this simple 3 step process can seem a bit tricky though.

I don't doubt the fact that you've made a considerably cheaper version of some sort of barbarian if "you're just gonna pub".

Personally I wouldn't waste 6 slots in stash for a prebuff fort. altho i spose u cud if u dont need anything else. however i wish i had more room already.

Besides defense dont mean **** anyway. unless ur talking about 30k+ and bvc doesn't use sheild. seriously what char wud u need defense vs??? considering smiters always hit, uve got 8.5k+ life already and u cant beat a bvb.

So if u dont have the best gear in the game ur saying barbs are pointless and noobish..... if thats ur opinion. I strongly suggest u reconsider making a barb, bcoz u obviously don't know how to play 1 tactically.

Its like with any character..... ur telling me fire sorces who dont hav 1k life 5k mana 20k dmg all suck?

or hdins who dont have 4.5k + life and 16k dmg with 300+ res?

or bowzons that do less than 16k dmg?

Ok, you get +115% defense and I get +60% defense and 800 more life (850 with angelics). And unlike life defense matters so much in so many duels LOLOLOL

Thread title says "bva" not "bVc" sry. Anyway a barb is a barb only noobs who haven't played much give them arbitrary labels.

To be able to use noob gear like fort you have to waste stats, I don't so I can use cheap items and still reach similar stats as your expensive but poorly built barb. What is hard to understand?

Someone who uses botd warpike on a barb shouldn't mention game mechanics sorry. I dominated euro nl pubs with a 5 soj barb just to prove it was possible, not my problem that you are a bad player.

Now please elaborate some about break points for attack rating HAHAHAHA
