would -100% defence in a weapon work? ( hit every time)? or -% capped?...

i just got my hands on a 4 socket griz weapon... and i was wondering if u put 4 eth runes in making it -100% target defence would this mean u'd hit every time (execpt for chance to block with a sheild) or is that yet another pvp cap. like slow is capped on 50% dr on 50% is -% defence capped too?..

There's no cap on -% Target Defence.

Against Boss monsters and other players, it works at half effect though (Eth would give -12.5% Target Defence).

Interesting, I assumed it worked against everyone... oh well.

By Boss Monsters, do you mean just the end of act ones or all Uniques and Super Uniques and even champions?

And lowering the defence of a normal monster to zero, just like ITD, does not mean you'll get an automatic hit (or 95% chance) against it. Your level and the target's level also factor into the equation and for instance a level 60 player has about 85% chance to hit a level 80 monster.

well i guess its worth a try when i get the rest of the set. i can always unsocket it with a hel rune if it doesnt work heh.
 
If you can afford it, put a Jah in one socket for ITD. It won't work on bosses but at least you have 3 other sockets to do with what you like (3 Eths, or 3 Guls to help against bosses, but I would do 3 shaels :))

Does lvl play a factor in %chance to hit in pvp melee duels?

that's true. ITD does not work, however, -to target defense does.

So Say i get a 5 socketed runemaster. And i put 4 eths + 1 shael in it, so i am at -100%, or -50% pvp what if i get a second runemaster, and socket it with 4 eths and a shael as well, will that be 100% hit?

Or, or, say i do this, get one of the runemasters, 5x eth it. So thats - 62.5%

Then i load up on ar, like arreats charms etc, hit say 20 k ar, or on a paladin with zeal load up on ar.

Would not that negate almost any defence pvp wise?

also, one more question: Arreats seems to add 20% overall ar, but things like Baranar's Star which supposebly triples it seems to add as if it was coming from skill wise AR bonuses

demon limbs enchant adds over 200% to ur attack rating with enchant.

it did seem to work.. without any runes i hit like 0-2 times per zeal. i put 2 eths in i got 3-5 hits each zeal and i have like 6k ar :)

note that was on a barb with like 30k defenece with no shield.

edit: also i dueled this guys "godly" zealer and won. maybe cus i hit more? who knows. but its worth trying yourself. the're eth runes. very common.
