Worth it to upgrade Darkglow?

Currently my Blade Fury Assassin is in A3 hell mode. I'm currently wearing a "Stealth" runeword dusk shroud. With Fade on I have 75% to all resists now.

I just picked up a Darkglow armor. Wearing that armor would give me 80% to all resists. Is the 5% difference to max resists worth using runes to upgrade the Darkglow? Or would I be better off just using the Stealth armor until I can make myself a Duress armor, or find somehting better?

My opinion, assassins have the most powerful crowd control abilities in the game (per points invested). You are playing a ranged character, and you should not get hit in the first place, not to mention the +50 defense you get by upping it doesn't do you any good in any case.

The Darkglow is worth upping, it could be used over and over for new guys and its a cheap up from a Normal item.

45-48 base to 176-190 Base

Can be +70-100% D

+50 more for Physical

+ all the other nice stuff

You get in excess of 75% more defense with it being upped.


Now, compared to a "Dusk Shroud" Stealth and the fact its a Sin you dont get the FCR from the Stealth, some of the other stuff is nice to have like FHR and R/W but you may be set there already. You will loose a bit of D going to the upped Dakrglow, but adding those resists from the armor might allow you to adjust some other gear that may be only resists based.

Its up to you, but IMO it is worth upping it whether you use it on this guy or not.

i upped a few of these in the past and would do it again......

My Necro made it to Guardian last season wearing Darkglow and Iratha's set. Never bothered to try to upgrade Darkglow since I had no luck with runes, but he never took enough hits to worry about as long as he wasn't running.

the only thing upgraded are the defense and the strength requirement. Oh, and maybe the clvl requirement... I'd not do i if I were you... +200 defense will not make a shred of difference against hell critters, they'll smash you anyway. Waste the runes on something else.
