Worst drop ever?

Ok, I finally finished Hell solo with my Hammerdin (yay 1st time ever!)

I finally get Baals last sliver of health away, after spending 300K on Merc ressurection since entering the worldstone chamber , Baal drops:

Rare War Spear
Rare Double Axe
Magic Gladius
Magic War Scythe
Magic Flamberge

And that's it! It's worse than Duriel!

What have I done wrong!

And you have done nothing wrong. How much did you have MF? Getting good stuff is all about doing lots of runs, persistence and preferably with lots of MF gear. If you didn't have any MF it is quite likely that the drop isn't very good

That should have been a great drop... first time drops are rare or better, but you rolled a Set Gladius (doesn't exist), War Scythe (doesn't exist) and Flamberge (doesn't exist), so they all got demoted to Magic items instead... ouch.

Still, congratulations on beating Baal, now you could just go back and demand a refund on your first-time drops

I'd say that was a pretty good drop.... you just got unlucky on the base items that dropped. This is because if, on the first kill, an act boss drops a magic item, you know for sure that it was a failed set (on first kill act bosses only drop rare or better). 3 sets is pretty decent.

Personally, the worst drop ever for me was an ethereal Griswold's Edge with a lvl 27 frenzy sword using barbarian. I know an unique is a good find, but the sheer irritation factor...

try a light mana potion from hell baal. the odds of it dropping were half that of atyraels might dropping, its that damn rare, yet is the most crappy drop ever for me.

Hell Meph dropped me a Scroll of Town Portal, a pack of Bolts (I think he can drop these...either that or it was from one of the baskets nearby), and a pile of Money one time. And that's it. Nothing even blue. I've gotten better runs from Quill Rats...

I think I got a magic shadow bow from Hell Meph once. He dropped it behind one of the pillars in Durance 3, so I just grabbed the bow and went back to Kurast, thinking there was more that I didn't see. (Cause that happens more or less frequently.) That was all there was, though. I scratched my head for a minute there.

I stopped tracking my worst drops long ago. My drops are almost always a pile of drek destined for the nearest shopkeeper. On the plus side, it makes those oh-so-elusive green and gold that much sweeter.

You call that bad? The first time my meteorb mfer killed hell baal he dropped two items: quiver of bolts and a key. :rant:

Once back in 1.09, I was doing MP Baal run games (p8 setting) and all he dropped when we killed him was 1 pile of gold, 1 quiver of bolts and 1 quiver of arrows. Another similar drop was 2 piles of gold and 1 quiver of bolts Even more ironic, there was no amazon either time.

Hell Meph dropped Super Healing, Scroll of Tp, Scroff of ID, ~15000 gold and an exceptional rare once. I ID the rare and it was garbage.
I used one Super Heal on my merc, who died just before my killing blow, the ID for the rare, the TP to get to town, sold the rare and rezzed my merc with Meph's spare change and my 'loot'. I nearly broke even. 'Thank you, come again!' :rant:

Haha.. its been a while since i`ve played diablo, so yesterday i killed duriel in normal with my assa. She got over 50% mf.. i remember in 1.09 duriel did great drops (low set items) in normal!! But he dropped: ONE stack of bolts.. yepp thats it.. i laughed, and laughed again. Then i actually laughed one more time before i laughed again :lol: .... :grrr: :rant: , and YES it was first time kill, kinda funny.

I can't remember my worst drop I did norm baal all he dropped was a super healing potion and some crap magics.
