This will limit some gears. But first thing first, you have enough life (more than enough), try to max resistant. I also think part of the "problem" is your play style, using OS as tank is crazy idea. It limits your fighting time and you have to worry more about recast. This might be fatal in later game, OS cannot stand a hit later. Your best bet is to cast it behind you, and try not to get it in trouble ever.

I personally go over protected in HC. But it is better to be safe than sorry. Using the bear and merc to keep mob busy, while you attack from behind ...
