Of course bin Ladin will be conviniently "found" along with the WMD's, about a week before the election...

It´ll be a lot sooner than that. My money is on this summer. It might be earlier or later if something happens (terrorist attack) between now and just before they plan to capture him.

Okay gentlemen, a sweepstake... how long before Smeg mentions something about 'tin-foil hat conspiracy theorists'.

I'm giving it 3 hours 15 minutes. Any takers?

But then, Smeg mentions tin-foil hats in every thread he replies to.

I am unfortunately not surprised at how some people will leap so far to believe the worst about America.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I'll believe it when I see it. Until then WMD's are just a figment of Bush's imagination.

If Bush planted something there and goes "See them there evildoers did have some there weapons of mass destruction" I wouldn't be suprised. They do have plenty of our weapons anyway.

It would be funnier if they found WMD's right after Bush lost the election.

We would hear him hollering all the way in Dallas. :)

Yes, conviently planted...and found a few months before election. Maybe we have left overs from WWII that will be considered of technological age for Iraq to have.

    1) I really doubt if they find WMDs, they will have been planted by the US. Most of Iraq's stuff is old Russian surplus stuff from the cold war, and I don't think the US has much of that lying around. So for the US to plant weapons, they'd have to buy them first. There'd be too many people involved to get a decent cover up, at least, that's my guess.

    2) Everyone has been waiting for the WMDs to be found for almost a year now, hoping for some sort of justification for the war. I don't see it being very beneficial to Bush to save information about WMDs being found until election time. The longer they go without finding WMDs, the more of the populace he alienates.

Well its about time that the 9th Armored Planting Division finally rolled into Iraq. I guess we can now sprinkle those WMD over the country side like Easter eggs and claim that Kay and his associates were as incompetent as Blix and the UN. :uhhuh:

Somehow I think the source of this report is just a wee bit biased. I agree with AJ that pulling this type of scenario off without someone "ratting" would be one helluva coup. The associated risks of any such venture would be great, and the results of failure ---> catastrophic for the administration.

PS: On the other hand, who knows what Bush and his buddies would be willing to try if they fall further in the polls. It is after all ... an election year. :surprise:

PSS: There is also no doubt in my mind that if any such actions took place and were uncovered, then the Bush adminstration would deny any prior knowledge of these events. :bonk:

How do the writers of the article actually know this Dross? For something that was going on pretty secretly, they seem to have alot of details--even to the origin of the weapons.

The article says that the source is "A reliable source from the Iraqi Governing Council, speaking on condition of anonymity".

An anonymous source is of course not the most reliable basis of an article.

    Convenient for you, I guess.

If no WMD's are ever found: "OMG, Bush is a liar! Burn him at the stake!"
If WMD's are found: "OMG, Bush planted them! Burn him at the stake!"

With reasoning like that, you'll never, ever have to challenge the notion that Bush has horns and eats babies, and thus you can live your life safe inside the comfort of your own fabricated beliefs. Huzzah!
