    Wizardspike vs. HOTO?

I'm wondering about the pro's and con's of a a Wizardspike on a PVP Hammerdin...

    Obviously:

HOTO: Adds 3 skills, dex, oak, life rep.
Wizardspike: Allows for higher res. stacking (+55 res. all with a nice jewel), more mana, and opens up a ring slot. Stick a BK in here and the HOTO only adds an extra +2 skills, as well as cancels out the extra vitality points from HOTO having extra dex with the +life

Is it just that to some people resistances are more important than damage because Hammerdin's already do so much? What about the life rep. HOTO adds? Is there more too it?

wizzy offers a nice, easy 125% fcr solution: wizzy, gloves, arach, 35%fcr spirit shield.

a HotO user needs to devote one more gearslot to FCR duties (ring, ammy or helm). which in turn reduces their ability to be a sorb-whore. and lets face it, hammerdins without massive sorb are ezpk.

Hammerdins can still hit 10k + hammer with wizzy setup but the stack and mana is preferable also to keep oaksage u use a sorb ring like wips as permanent sorb to keep oak.

VS all i think wizzy>hoto however in situation where u can take extra dmg, i.e hammer vs hammer and possibly vs barb hoto is better

I'm of the opinion that in general (i.e, dueling publets) Wizzy > Hoto. The extra res stack/mana is far better than +3 skills (which translates to about 2k damage).

However, one on one, against anything that doesn't require stacked res (the only chars that do being FoH, Lite Sorcs, or Cold Sorcs), Hoto is the better choice for dex (block) and the skills perhaps increasing the chance of a quicker kill.

even so u can socket it a wizzy with 9 dex/15 all res jewel which means dex for block is irrelevant.

    Thanks =)

Also: A ring slot opens up. If you put a BK or SoJ in said slot, you regain one skill and add a lot of mana or life. Otherwise, you can always put a wisp on for recasting Oak.

    Re: Wizardspike vs. HOTO?

personally i like hoto better since it comes with oak

    quick minion stack is pro

and if you're a 'regular' bm hdin you should be packing like an inventory of 20/11s or 20/5's. No need additional stack from wiz.

and if you're packing 9x pcombs to fail tps or s/e's and stuff, you should be using hoto for the damage

EITHER WAY, just keep a wiz in the stash its like 2x1 lmao
