maybe u should read the commandomancer guide first and find out wat a commandomancer is
but anyway im just experimenting playing without the psn dagger bug
but constantly switching in and out of werebear
and just seeing wat gear works best
im eagerly anticipating ur updated guide mad mantis :)

OK I get it you build all your characters verbatium off the guildes, so I guess there is absolutely 100% no other weapon options for any build other than what another player says you have to use...

See some of us use guides as springboards (insperation) for our own ideas, and don't necessarilly follow them to a Tee. Personally duplicating spmeones elses build point for point item by item sounds preaty dull (almost as dull as a skelemancer). So for example you say Comandomancer and think I have to follow the guide to be a comandomancer, me I see it like this a hybrid skelemacer that melees on the side (oops wait thats also the front line general), give me break.

And note there is a bit of sarcasism here, I hope your literal mind didn't miss that.

mayb u havent noticed but i am obviously NOT duplicating someone elses build which is why i posted in the first place
so ur definition of commandomancer is diff to mine big woop dont have a full cry about it. im sorry ok?

i just did some testing mantis, i think even following kbob's guide and adding a few AR charms is quite effective (ie without changing alot of the gear)
i mean melee'ing in most parts of hell i was doing OK but of course there are areas esp. in 8player games that i dont think any amount of items would stop u from dying if u tried to melee too much.

With absolutely no info. We are supose to know that despite the fact you felt the need to critique one of my posts because you "have to have beast" and no other info on your stats or skills, and that to know what you are doing I must read this specific guide, we are to assume that you are making your own orginal build....Makes sence to me.

And if it's sooooo not the same then why you clinging to having to have the beast? Why not look for something different, after all you want to hit things, why not look for an alternative weapon that you can hit with? Guess what!?! skelles without beast do just fine too.

I'm sorry but from every indication you have given in this post you are simply trying to build the same build but trying to find out how to do it without the PD bug. Which don't get me wrong is fine, I was more than willing to help (and I've played non-summoning based mancers for a few years now).

Gear doesn't make a build, the player makes a build. Now the PD bug doesn't work for your meleemancer (even 1.09 I never used it even with my meleemancers, or the BG IM bug for that mater), too bad (boo hoo)- that's the risk you take when you make builds based on bugs. They suck when the bug is fixed.

But you know, I obviously don't know what I'm talking about. Forget the fact that in the higher levels reduction of your enemy's defense is more effective than adding to your AR. After all it doesn't take that much AR to consitantly score hits in hell (you don't have to believe me, do the math--oh wait you'll wait till someone else writes a guide on it). And you know a nice, easy, and cheap 25% def. reduction in the form of Eth's just can't be effctive, they don't cost anything and noone trades in them so they just can't be any good. And golly, you can't use it in a runeword so there goes beast.

But wait ya know PD does still work on it's own and can add some rather decent extra damage and increase your AR. But you know items like Blackbogs and Fleshripper just really suck. Oh yeah and daggers just plain suck too I hate the fact that they are the only real melee weapon that can spawn with +necro skills. And gee most all of them hit just as hard as other one handers too.

Seems to me like I have now (twice with the same information) given you two different things to look at to help you whack things as you want too. You just can't use your weapon of choice. The topic of the thread you started is if PD is still viable to the commandomancer....and yes it still is! unless your absoletely have to use a different weapon than a daggerclass weapon.

They say there is no stupid questions, but asking if PD is still a good skill to invest in now that the bug doesn't work and you won't be asking a dagger IS a stupid question. Duhhhh.

And if being a bear is so important to you make a druid.

And oh jeez going back and looking at Kbobs guide what do I see there....

Beast is highly recomended....Humm looking farther down..

Barnard's star...one of my favorite meleemancer weapons

now after reading NC's psn dagger bug tests
im 99% convinced the psn dagger bug either no longer works or never worked or watever... just that it doesnt work now

how viable is the commando-mancer (kbob's guide) in hell difficulty
i mean with onlyenough dex for max block with homonculus
thats not very much ar...

considering other melee or physical dmg based chars (barb, zons, sassys..etc) have skills that boost ar AND even then alot of poorly built versions of these chars have trouble hitting often enough in hell

SOoo... i mean werebear or not , melee'ing without using a dagger as a necro with only enuf dex for max block... it just sounds like its not gonna work??

opinions/comments/flames?..

Not sure how I killed the thread since you're the one that came out swinging at me, I have mearly defended myself. Show me where in the orginal post you said anything about wanting to keep beast (In fact it sounds like your considering a weapon switch with statements like "i mean werebear or not)? Or what your build is like. Look at who first posted in responce. Did I ever deserve a "you don't know what your talking about" responce. One can only work with the information you give us, don't blast someone for not knowing what you don't tell them.

And don't ask for flames if you can't handle them.

I know you've read some of my other posts and I'm sure you've (if you haven't feel free to check) noticed that when I don't know something and am making guess, I say so. Also, you're also familiar with the amount of homework that I do on this game, so it is hard to refrain from keeping it personal when you're basically called out as a noob (I hate that using that term but no others seem to apply). Especially, when the problem wasn't the answer but the question that was asked.

I'm done...nothing to see here..move along and continue your shopping.

Has anyone tried using a Blessed Aim Merc in Conjunction with Beast for a Commando? I know you'll lose damage without having the Might Aura, but you still get a plentiful bonus from Fanaticism. Reduced Damage but increased AR.

Just a thought...
