Wind druid summons

Which do you use?

i use spirit wolves, cause with one base point i can summon 5. I put a point in dire wolf  , thinking 5 of those would be better, but i can only get 3. id rather the 5 weaker wolves...they are just there to shield me as i tele around

i cant rly see the use in a grizzly

or do u not believe a summon is useful at all? (not including sage)

I vote for grizzly since its the toughest of summons and thus lasts most with the 4 point investment. If I had loads and loads of +skills and enigma and stuff I would probably just put 1 point in direwolves(passive life bonus that is affected by +skills) and spiritwolves and use spiritwolves.
No enigmas for me though... :(

in a good PK game tho, grizzly still dies pretty fast

altho i guess griz is much better vs hell monsters

oh and btw, if ur NL west, i give hi runes for ral runes + p amethysts...can easily earn you some enigmas there!

1 rune:25 ral and or ameth
2 rune: 40!

Thanks for your consern but unfortunately I play on single player. :)

I wrongly assumed this was PvM, for PvP spirit wolves are certainly much better, more targets for auto targetting skills. Even the point in direwolves isn't neccesary most likely since the damages dealt by PvP players are typically way too high for (mostly)unsynergized summons to take multiple hits.

I actually use a clay golem with my elemental druid, and I play pure single tree builds so none of those mentioned fit my style. I play single player so just PvM for me.

I'll say its based on the enemy i am fighting against. Vs hammerdins i prefer spirit wolfes and vs sorcs grizz, for example. Also there was an idea about golem. Sounds interesting i'll try it once.

Well, every summon you can have is an easy one-hit-kill. So you might aswell have five weak ones than one or three that are slightly less weak.
Unless you want to focus your build on having strong summons (lots of pts in synergies, etc.), I suggest that you only put 1 pts in Spirit Wolves. They are good at keeping auto targeting skills from targeting you, but I guess you already know that! :)

Sometimes a grizzly is better than the 5 spirit wolves. Such as vs a v/t or smiter I'd prefer using a grizzly, as it covers your name better and can take a couple smites.
With wolves, it's not too hard to namelock you and smite you from right under the wolves. Also, a grizzly can knockback when it hits and can do some damage, whereas spirit wolves do negligible damage but can cause a block animation more often.
If you're really that worried about spending 2 more points, then spirit wolves will do fine, but grizzlies are better in certain situations.
