Wind Druid question..

I am currently building a Wind Druid on Ladder.
His equipment is as follows:
Ravenlore
Dusk Enigma
Hoto
Spirit
Mara
SoJ's
TGod's (switching to Arach's once lvl 80)
Treks
Magefists.
1xEle GC (probably won't be able to get any more.. atleast not in the near future)

My base stats are as follows right now:

77str
160dex
around 120vit
base energy

My current dex with +items is 170. Block seems to be VERY low (around 45%) . Around how much final (base) dex should I have if I want to take this Druid to level 89, and have 75% block? Is it needed for wind druids or did I screw this guy up? I was told I should have around 200-205 dex.

P.S. I have about 55-60 stat points left to distribute.

Can someone help this guy? No thread leaves the front page unanswered!

I would help but I'm pretty out-dated in D2 knowledge...

Considering you've already invested points in Dex for Max Block, you may as well continue pumping Dex until you reach 75% Block rate.

You could have forgone the blocking rate and gone pure Vit but too late now..

Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will come along and help you out!

Till then, Good luck!

At lv 91 I need 240 dex for 75% block with a RHYME Grim Shield (which has 60% block)

Your Monarch has ..what? 42% block? I don't think max block is a viable option in the near future for you..maybe get a Stormshield and sacrifice 2 skills?

Did you screw him up? Dunno..is he HC and lost forever if he dies? Or is it SC? Is it possible to screw up a SC character? I mean..you have better items than I ever had and i was once on spot 89 on the Druid ladder...so..I guess the only way to screw up a character is when he dies for good :D

I assume this isnt HC. I would redo him all over again. Reaching for max block with spirit is a pain and waste of stat points! Either switch to storm/sanctuary/rhyme or redo him and go pure vitality.

Your a windy (so why magefists???) FCR?? trangs gloves work the same but offer you more other affixes.

If you're going Pvp then yeah max block is essential, cutting 75% of melee attacks is a nice thing to do, add on cutting the elemental damage with your cyclone armor :) .

I was always told that blocking takes presidence over life, if you can block an attack you don't have to endure an attack. Since you have almost all of your end game gear on and don't need the extra str use it in dex, 200+ dex will place you closer to 75% blocking. you may not be able to muster the total dex needed for max blocking but I would get atleast 50% blocking.

Max block with a spirit at lvl 80 requires something like 290 dex. You are going to need max block since you are up close when hitting enemies. A Stormshield may be a better option with at lvl 80 req 195 dex. Which brings us to the need for dr. That enigma gives you 8% + 35% SS = 43%. Looks like you have the wealth to put a ber in the SS to reach max dr. Or you could -req in SS and ber that Ravenlore. Have you thought about a shako or jalals instead of ravenlore? Giving up one skill to get huge life and mana and dr or 30 fhr and 20 str might be a better value.

If this is PvP you really do need max block as you are gonna be really close to the enemy when you use tornado.
