Wind Druid or ?

Im thinking of making a wind druid, I have the resources for it (aka hoto, enigma) and plenty of runes to trade for gcs and a ravenlore. I was just wondering whether I should build this new char or re outfit my lvl ** hammerdin. Which one performs better in pubbies and which one would win in a average duel. :xsmile4: Also im on us west sc nl do ele gcs cost a rune each still or are they cheaper now?

Hi!

Hmm... if viewed objectively, both have good points.
Windy
+hurricanes "passive protection" that can be expanded by running
+massive elemental absorb of cyclone armor that is immune to -resist gear
+oak sage
+wolves
+tornado deals physical damage thus hard to resist

Hammerdin
+magic damage, unresistable
+vigor
+usually good resists

But if you look at it rationally, why would you want to play a character that uses a skill that creates these small whirring thingies that hover around you in a stupid yet repetitive way when you can spam these mini tornadoes in random directions. :D

In terms of ownage, Wind Druids' own Hammerdins. They hold their own against more characters then any Paladin can.

Their even cheaper aswell.

So I should make a wind druid, what charms other than the 10 ele gcs and anni should I have? Also is there a stragitey for using them in pk? (Like name locking with necros) Also does the resist on hoto matter a lot on this char or can I use a 35 or lower? :xsmile4: Well thanks in advance

You won't need max resists, having just positive resists is fine since all you need to do is to cast Cyclone Armor when necessary. Fill your inventory with Ele. Gcs' with life or FHR, if you can't afford those either get normal ones or ones with str. so it saves you some stat points. Fill the rest of the inventory with an Annihilis and some 20 life small charms or FHR small charms. Resists are a plus but it isn't necessary on the charms. Its' usually hard at first to control a Wind Druid when you are just starting out because you have to keep summoning and recasting different attacks with different hotkeys rather then just spamming the same attacking over and over again. All you really need to do is just sit there and spam Tornados' and occasionally side step to avoid missiles, you can't loose. If you want to be offensive, namelock the opponent with a right click Tornado and then left click Teleport ontop of them and they're dead.

O one last question what are the best boots for wind druids?
Ill be using this setup if it helps

Ravenlore
Hoto
Arachnids
Enigma
Stormshield (socket with hel or?)
Maras
Sojs or bul kathos (which is better?)
Upped magefists

If you have any equipment suggestions drop a post. :xsmile4:

Cheapest and most effective Wind would be something like this:

Jalals' Mane w/ Shael
Enigma
Heart of the Oak
Stormshield w/ Ber for melee or other Wind Druids and Sanctuary on switch for casters
Arachnids' Mesh
Trang Ouls' Claws
Sandstorm Treks
2x FCR Ring w/ +str.
Maras' Kaleidoscope

Annihilis
10x Ele. GCs'
6x FHR SCs'
3x Life SCs'

Should have around 4.5K life, 5.7K Tornado. 99/99 Breakpoints.

Or if you really want to spiff it up:

+6 to Tornado Druid Helm w/ 2x Shaels'
Enigma
Heart of the Oak
Stormshield w/ Ber for melee or other Wind Druids and Sanctuary on switch
Arachnid's Mesh
Trang Ouls' Claws
Sandstorm Treks
2x FCR Rings w/ str., life and resists
Gaea's Amulet of the Whale

Annihilis
7x 30+ life Ele. GCs'
3x FHR Ele. GCs'
1x FHR SC
8x Life SCs'

Should have around 6.5K life, 6.5K Tornado. 99/99 Breakpoints.

Hmmm so what do fcr rings trade for? Also why trang gloves instead of upped magefists? So eth treks are good boots for wind druid, also whats a +6 tornado helm cost?

Just plain FCR Rings you can get for like a PGem or you can just do some Andy runs or something and they can be dropped quite easily. Ones with stats can cost you more depending on what kind of mods. you want on them. Say something with 20+ str., 20+ life, 5+ to all resists can cost you say 10x++ high runes/32020s' (Non Ladder East). Magefists are fine, but I like the Claws for extra cold resists. Some prefer Magefists for Mana Regen. but I don't really care too much about Mana. Eth' Treks are fine, but normal ones do just as well since you won't really have too much def. anyways. +6 Tornado Helms with 2 sockets cost 100x++ high runes/32020s', good luck finding one though.
