Why are you not allowed edit your posts for a longer period?

Im tired of making new trade threads with different items and not being able to edit after items are gone. Why does edit go away anyway? why is it not permenent?

It used to be that one could edit indefinately. But that was before "The Incident." However, speaking about such matters is strictly forbidden, and I don't need to be banned right now.

Now do not attempt to use the computer for anything else other than the entering of the code. This is its only function. The isolation that attends the duties associated with Station 3 may tempt you to try and utilize the computer for communication with the outside world. This is strictly forbidden. Attempting to use the computer in this manner will compromise the integrity of the project and worse, could lead to another incident. I repeat, do not use the computer for anything other than entering the code.

Personally I like it this way. It'd be annoying if people went back and changed their posts when there are more than one or two posts ahead of them.

    Delighted.

It's up to the discretion of the local mod.

Quick fix: make a new post instead of editing the old one. A lot quicker than bothering a mod just so yo ucan edit a post.

Hey maccool, why do you always say "because you touch yourself at night"?

    *Waits for it*

This question bugs me too, usually in the USEast trade forum. CrazyPayne is...let's leave it at lazy (or not. He's lazy, grumpy, often vindictive, and the fact that he's allowed to TRADE on the forum that he moderates seems a bit stupid to me). Getting him to allow you to edit a post after an hour is about as easy as finding the source code for the VBulletin board and editing it yourself. Also, he has banned people for posting less than 6 hours after your last post. This means that after the 60 minute edit time, there is a 5 hour down-time where you can't touch your thread. Thus, if you, say, trade off the item you're offering, you can't tell people that.

Phew, finally got that off my chest. $5 says CP bans me now!

Huh. I guess I'm due for banning about twelve times over now.

Well, from now on you've encouraged me to adopt a new policy out of fear, one which I call: :lipsrsealed:

Yes, well, not everyone has a 30 posts/day quota to hit.

Lord Nyax, you really should be taking this up with CP or Elly via PM. Frankly, I'm considering taking you up on that bet.

This thread seems to be getting out of hand. I will close it now.

Posting time limit is set forum-wide, special arrangements to extend this can not be made for the trade forums. CrazyPayne has no control over that.

The editable time is one hour. There was no incident that led to it being set to one hour, it was something agreed over time. If it were possible to set the edit time by forum type then I'd set it to 10 mins max on the trade forums but then that would be inconvenient for the rest of the forums.

Forum moderators can trade via the forums or our auction site.
