Who is going to be a packrat this time around?

In d2 i made the mistake of dropping everything that i didnt like or didnt think was good. and now i look back to 09 and all the items that i could have kept but didnt and seeing how much they sell for now is amazing. if you use trading sites such as d2jsp you should know.

this time around i will be keeping almost every unique ( if they still have them ) rares and sets etc.. until established that they are total crap.

but then again blizzard could decide one account per cdkey which would throw my plan off because of mules xD

what about yall? planning to packrat

I have about 75 ATMA stashes... so... it kind of speaks for my approach to the pack rat issue. :)

I've always been a packrat. This time around I'll still keep all uniques/set items/whatever, both for possible market value and collecting purposes. I'll also be taking screenshots of everything because I'll be one of those people trying to compile item information (base item properties, property value ranges, affixes, etc).

I'm pretty over-organized, too, with 93 ATMA stashes and 61 characters that hold specific item types and rarities. :crazyeyes:

I'll most likely keep items I might find useful for some character I might make some time in the future, or something that is expensive (knowing me, it'll take me a week to finally even get to the part of trying to sell it, though... ), but I won't keep uniques and whatnot that I will never get rid of/use.

It also highly depends on stash size; if you get PlugY-sized stash (double LOD per page I think, and >150 thousand pages or something ridiculous), I might keep those crappy uniques just for kicks. Just maybe.

I don't have patience for mules and find shuffling items around the most annoying thing ever. Ideally stashes should go on into infinity, like excel spreadsheets.

Or we should at least be able to buy more chests. My character is saving the world from the most evil forces within Hell itself, and he can't get another chest to keep his extra things. Please.

Excel spreadsheets are finite. Hold "Page Down" for a minute or so; it'll eventually stop (65k iirc).

I am hoping for a "trade while you play/are away" system so that there will not be a need to horde gear. Anyone think this game will have a trade system like that?

If it doesn't, then of course I'm going to be a pack rat!

You make the assumption that all pack rats do it in order to trade.

I'd hazard a guess that a significant portion of us are grailers.

hahaha... :alright: Yes, I guess I did, but your also assuming that needs and wants are the same thing, so we're even!

I need to trade for better gear to stay alive, but do you really need to collect all that stuff just for the fun of it or is that more of a desire or want?

I actively used 8 accounts, with only about 6 actual characters I played the rest full of mules. Not only that, but after ladder switches to non-ladder I can't bring myself to get rid of the characters/items, so I just make new accounts =P.
