Why not just make this whole thing illegal and get it done with? Then hit alcohol, caffeine and sex.
Sex is bad for you???

And here I thought it was my entire cardio workout. Damn.

It can be! Watch out!

It's also immoral and an affront against decency apparently. But that's a whole 'nother thaing.

I hate smokers, lil' ignorant fools taking years off my life by poisoning my lungs. I have a perfect idea of what to do to one; Get up close to one and push his cig down his throat as he is smoking on it. How stupid must you be to smoke, there are no benefeits from breaking down your body, yellowing your teeth, yellowing your apartment/house walls and getting a long-time addiction.

The only thing this would do is get your *** kicked.

I take it you're in prime shape, never eat anything unhealthy nor imbibe any kind of alcohol or any other thing that could possibly be bad for you? Live in a city? Drink enough water? DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT YOURSELF????

Yay hypocracy!
I've never tasted alcohol, I only drink water...

Relaxation that doesn't affect basic motor skills.

Umm but wouldn't that mean chainsmokers should be the most relaxed dudes around?
Generally the more people smoke the less relaxed overall they become.

It's illegal here to smoke in public places like restaurants. I don't see why it's so hard to stay out of it then. How am I supposed to keep it to myself? It's not like I can control the smoke. Until I see someone give up all the habits they do every day that contribute to bad health I won't feel sorry for them.

The municipal government is now talking about banning smoking in public parks. Yay! Now little part time lunatics want to control smokers in large open-air as well! Why not just make this whole thing illegal and get it done with? Then hit alcohol, caffeine and sex. That'll give you a good running start to when you want to ban having a cold in public.
Thats good to hear. It's not hard to stay out of it in appleton, and I love it. Smoke away in the open air, because I can back up and stop smelling it.

But when I go to perkins here in my town, it really sucks to inhale the smoke of the inconciderate jerk 20 feet away. Theres alot of habits we all have that arent' great in public. Masterbation? Having sex? Anything else we may have?
Yeah, but I agree. Closed building are a no-go, because seriously... you can't get away from it without leaving the place, most of the time.

Sex bad for you? Someones not very bright. It's very good for you, as I've heard. So is caffine, in the right ammounts.

I didn't advocate smoking where people can't get away from it. I advocated people stop whining if other people decide to smoke when it doesn't affect them and a little random second hand smoke won't harm you any more than the 100 other bad things you do to yourself every day.

As for sex, you missed the point. It has some positive effects. It also has negative effects. Caffeine has atrocious affects and some mild good ones. Smoking has some mild good effects and some very bad ones. Sex has some good effects and also some extremely (fatal) ones. I figured someone who was bright would have figured out that we're talking about the negative effects of various activities and why people should be banning everything that could possibly harm you. THEREFORE, ban sex as it can possibly harm you. Someone's not very bright.

Actually, don't smokers wind up taking more out of healthcare than they contribute via all those extra taxes? Otherwise I'd wonder why the government would run all those quit campaigns at great expense.
Yes they do.

Are you calling Anakha1 an idiot? I mean you can call him many things but not an idiot.

And i am pretty sure he has a big gun so be more carefull please.

Okay, let's not turn this into a stereotypical debate.
Because so many stereotypes follow owning a gun I won't even list them.

I just can't comprehend how smokers think they AREN'T harming others. I don't care if they kill themselves with overloads of the rat poison and tar they inject into their system. It's the fact that they are harming me and the environment that pisses me off. There is no such thing as a 'Smoking in public ban'. If there was, half the world would be behind bars.

Ok, I'm not sure quite where you live. I'll try to keep this simple.

The year is 2006.

The country in which I live has indeed banned smoking in many public places (more of a municipal thing, but I'm getting wordy here...).

This means that *gasp* I can go to the mall without being inundated with smoke.

I'm sorry if where you live you have to put up with this at school. Aren't there more entrances that aren't surrounded by mobs of evil people forcing you to inhale the smoke?

Unless I want to walk for half a block around my school, then loop back to beyond the door where the smokers puff, there is no way to logically get around without being late for class, perhaps being marked as absent and eventually denied a credit because of numerous absences.

So really, you do have a choice: you can either take a bit extra time and walk a half a block (really not that far) or walk through the smoke. Your call.

Kind of funny that I'm sticking up for smokers here.

Thanks for the list. I can die a fulfilled man now.

You see, I don't mind hard-core pot abusers, I'd much rather everyone smoke pot instead of cigs. This is because nobody will ever just stand around infront a building or on a sidewalk sweet talking Mary J. They know they will get busted so they do it in the security of their basement or somewhere else private which I will be nowhere near.

So <3 for pot-heads.
</3 for cigarette users.

Not to mention the fact that marijuana smoke actually smells good (up for debate I guess).

You make it seem like smokers inhabit 99% of the earth. Take an extra 10 seconds out of your OH SO IMPORTANT LIFE and walk around the damn smokers.
