Who do yougamble from?

I have always thought that since you rescued her, Anya was the best to go to for gambling, yet I see most people talk about Gheed. I have tried both, and actually my best gambles have been from Anya. I haven't gambled a ton, so has it just been luck so far, and in the long run I should be going to Gheed?

From what I remember the NPC you gamble from has nothing to do with the items you get. I believe gambling only takes into account your character lvl.

It's just luck. That said, my luck runs differently with each vendor, and I'm sure others will say the exact opposite about their experiences. Gheed is usually my source for belts and gloves, Elzix for boots and (surprisingly) weapons, Alkor for headgear, Jamella for jewelry. And Anya/Nihlathak have never, ever been nice to me while gambling. It's all luck and superstition, I know, with no mathematical basis in fact, but the superstition works for me. :D

yeah, gambling is pretty much your character level along with luck.... I gamble from Anya. They are all the same so really it doesnt matter who u gamble from. Someone tell me if I'm wrong though.

I think it matters what difficulty you are in, but not which NPC you gamble from. I seem to remember reading somewhere that in Normal, you cannot gamble Elite items, yet in Nightmare, you have a 5% chance of getting an Elite item, and in Hell you have a 10% chance of getting an elite item. Can anyone verify or correct this?

The difficulty matters, but not the NPC, that is correct. The percentages you mention are wrong. You can´t gamble elites in Nightmare and the chance for elites on Hell is smaller (and based on character level). There is a very good chance for exceptional items on Hell, though.

You don't need to reset to gamble - just select gamble again from the vendor and it'll be a different set of items each time. You only need to reset if buying from a vendor. (Apologies if you already knew this .....)

Gheed for two reasons.

1 I usually need to gamble when I start to build up my char in the earlier part of the game. (I dont twink until I know my char is how I want it)

2 I usually only get into act 1 Hell when I get tired of my build.

Personally I have always had better luck from Gheed, but I think its just luck. I still gamble from all of them since theres nothing else to do with the gold.

The mathematical basis is that people normally gamble from the one they are questing in.

So that means that the players level is higher when she's gambling from Anya than from Gheed.

That's why so many mention getting better equipment from Anya.

I gamble from anyone except the one from act 4 since there seems to be a delay between the time you see the trade window and the time you see the items you can gamble on apear and she's the only one who seems to do that
