white, whiter ... wand

im planning on making a pure bone necro, so istart collecting and shopping suitable wands for the white runeword. so far i got three that seem ok:

1. grim wand: +3 bonespirit, +2 decrepify
2. bone wand: +3 spear, +1 confuse, +1 skel mastery
3. bone wand: +3 spear, +3 blood golem

since blood golem is more or less not used it comes down to the first two. now my questions:

- which one is better? considering that decrep might be the only curse to use if i choose wand 1 and therefore have more skillpoints to put into synergies.

- have these wands any considerable trading value?

- is a second wand with +3 bone-armor for pre-buff worth the time shopping?

- or should i continue looking for a wand until i find something really good (+3 spear and +xdecrep/bone-armor or alike)?

Out of what you have #1 by a landslide. As far as answering your other questions I will leave that to someone else who has a little more expereince in making Whites.

Just to be sur you know, +skiller point don't up your synergies. For exemple,

You have 20 hard point in bone wall. 1 hard point in bone armor. If a item give you + 2 to bone wall. This will no boost up the synergie of bone armor.

About your wand, depend how you want to play. For exemple (I know, i like exemple :p). My main attack is bone spear. And for the curse, i like to use decrep. So i try to have a wand with Bone spear and decrep. Or if you dont want to use curse, in your play, but want to increase your bone armor. Wand with bone spear and bone armor will be better.

What he was saying was that if he gets Decrep from a wand, then he doesn't need to sink points in the curse tree.. thus freeing up those would-be curse points for extra synergy points in the PnB tree. Bone necros aren't ever really "done" as the core build alone (teeth/wall/prison/spear/spirit) is 100 points, and you can always (usefully) have more in Bone Armor. So those would-be curse points definitely have a use.

@Carnivore: I assume this is PVP.. otherwise just spend the hard points for your curses. They're so helpful in PVM that the loss of damage is easily worth it. I'd make Whites out of both #1 and #2. #1 is probably your main PVP wand, #2 is a leveling/PVM wand (Confuse OWNS) and for NvN duels where Spirit spam is frowned upon. Dols and Ios are cheap runes...

And don't bother with a dedicated Bone Armor prebuff wand. You're talking 10 damage absorbed per level of Bone Armor... so that +3 to Bone Armor wand is 30 points higher than your other wands. So not worth the prebuff effort, unless you're hell-bent on absorbing that one extra stray quill rat shot...

exactly. no points in curses or in summons planned. would make the 'white'-wand a +3 to every necro skill i use.

ive read that some builds suggest to put one point in golem-mastery, summon resist and clay golem. is this golem could for anything with so few points spent?

i play almost exclusively PvM, at least right now, because i lack the equipment to succesfully do PvP. besides i dont even know yet what my final equipment will be.

short term im aiming for level 80 and normal/nightmare completely done, which would sum up to 87 skill points:
20 in bone spear, bone spirit, bone wall, bone prison
1 in corpse explosion and bone armor
and 5 in teeth.

after that he should at some point (when i gathered the right equipment) be able to handle nihlatak and baals minions.

you are right, i will make both and see what works better for me.

good point, i totally forgot about the synergies adding fixed amounts of points instead of percentages (in which case a bigger base armor would make sense).

Ideally, I would shoot for a +3 spear, Decrep and Revive. Grab clay golem and golem mastery (or even amp and dim vision after as well).

You Can Also Hold The One With Confuse In Invo, And When You have A Massive Amount Of Monsters To Kill, Switch Over, Cast The Confuse, Then Switch Back

I agree with namastex, those are the mods I would look for in a wand as well. Amp and DV will be single point each, and CE is a prereq for spear anyway. Namastex's recomendation gives you useful skills that would have normally cost quite a few pre-req points.
