As far as I know, the order you equip the weapons does not matter. It is always the right weapon (the one above your gloves) that is the main weapon, and the left weapon the off-hand weapon. Correct me if I'm wrong..

i just tested and it does matter what one you equip first, that becomes main.
i had grief above gloves but equipped it last and zerked about 30 monsters but venom never went off, so i assume i was zerking with beast even though it was on boot side.
then equipped grief first and venom went off after a couple hits as usual.
also ive read several places to equip main first.
ya you want grief as main, beast as offhand, that way grief gets the first hit check and when you zerk you get the massive damage from grief.

It doesn't matter which one you equip first. The main hand is above the gloves.
Whenever you switch to your secondary weapons, then switch back, the weapon above the gloves will always be in your char's right hand.
It's a little-known trick that always works.

Incorrect. What if you never switch to secondary weaps, like droogs little test?

Because switching, dying, leaving the trade screen, etc. are treated by the game as re-equipping your weapons, it will equip the character's right hand first, otherwise - as in classic - the first weapon you place in a character's hand is the primary. Shame they didn't think ahead and make a left-hander. Druids look so much like they'd be left-handed. Do you see the way they run when not in wereform?
