Which is more populated? (West or East?)

Which is more populated? (West or East?)

I'm starting up D2 again in HCL but wanted to know which side (East or West) has more people (meaning more NM/Hell Baals, people to trade with, lots of pub games ) to play with?

And I'm guessing no matter which realm, SCL has more people than HCL right?

Don't know which side has more, but on EHCL NM and especially Hell pub games are dead (due to TPPK). Everyone's hidden in private games with friends. There are usually lots of Hell trade games open however.

Judging by the ratio of HC:SC people in the default channel, I'd say there's easily 20-30x more SC than HC players.

Populated or not..... Pub games are just asking for some newb to try and tppk you. Best bet is to stick private with some good friends. Even then mistakes/lag happen.

I play in HC US West with my son for about 6 weeks now.

Have lost about 6 Toons for various reasons. One was Pked in Nightmare Baals minions chamber.

Best advice would be to stay aways from portals cast my higher level players.

Normal is always well populated. Probably best place to trade.

Nightmare is always dead. Very few public games.

Hell is also very quiet, mostly two or three games. Trading there is pretty poor.

I hate loosing toons to pkers but it is part of the game. Sort of adds to the dangerous atmospher in HC - which I suppose is a good thing.

Recently, I've made a few friends and we play together alot.

Sometimes I use public Baal games to level toons, just be very carefull.

With out a doubt HC is far more fun in all games.

It's one thing to lose a character to lag or a hyper modded monster. It's quite another to lose on to a no skill one hit kill hacking noob. I always play solo, trade multi. It works for me.

I've played all realms (currently East) and think the only difference between East & West due to the time I play, which is usually 10-midnight or so California time. I agree that Nightmare and Hell are dead, whatever realm you play. But since I play solo, that's no big deal.

use the forums, make friends, and play private.

Your ping will be alot better on uswest if your in calif. Mine is about 50-70 (onwest coast), in USEast (where I used to play) it wasy always closer to 120, when I played on uswest from japan it was around 150-170. I would guess thats where europe would be.

Keep in mind those are all playable pings, but with higher pings you tend to desync more, and playing far from your timezone can be a real hassle if you mostly play with friends.
