Which char? (two options). What are weaknesses/strengths?

My first option is a fury/rabies druid: stoutewolf/rangniheldr's guide.

Eth Tomb (40/15, 40/15, Zod - or ShaelShaelZod)
Jalal's/Cerebus' (Cerebus' Shael'd for BP)
Highlord's/Angelics
Nigma
Bloodfist
x2 BK Rings (sorb rings in stash)
Gores
x9 SS GCs (2 FHR for BP)
x10 3max/3frw SCs

OR

Bone Nec

My question is, I know the bone nec is a pretty strong build (its glaring weakness being BvCs), but is the fury/rabies druid very powerful? What are its strengths and weaknesses? I have a life-based smiter which is 99% done, and they seem pretty similar. Which is a stronger build? Or are they very different?

(Also thinking bout a windy druid, but not that much).

You definitely get more kills with the bone nec. And I wouldn't say that a BvC is a glaring weakness for a necro (assuming max block).

If you can afford the gear, a fury/rabies isn't too bad even for pubs and you might like the challenge of things like lack of mobility, but it might frustrate you.

Fairly new to the PvP scene. Gear is not a problem as I can afford most things. My completely decked out hammerdin (except for pcomb lifers) deals with most things, and I'm getting better with my smiter (whose not quite finished). However, I am by no means good at PvP/skilled with a lot of types of characters.

Seems as if a werewolf will be very hard to play, and my smiter will probably do better.

Leaning towards bone nec/windy druid.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of these?

Windies shine brilliantly against a lot of the pub's hardhitters, but then you see them getting so easily wrecked by pretty much all sins.

If you're looking for strict character advantages/disadvantages and not counting the playing style, bone necro will outweigh wind druid.

Ah yes, horrible FHR.

I think I will be making a bone necro. Thanks for the help.

1 thing about a wolf is fun. When you die you can just start attacking stuff and dont need to go town refilling lost mana pots.

IMO BvC's harder people to beat would be GG bone necs and hdins.. :( As a BvC bone necs are not as hard as HDins but.. are still pretty tough considering (I have 7.3k life) They have.. dmg sorb which can be recast Max block and usually some dr with decent amount of hp.. :( And my 7.3k life vs there 2k+ bonespirits/spear hurts.. :(

I built my second bone nec this ladder a few months back. I played him for a month and then it got boring.

If you go with a rabies/fury, you'll surprise a lot of chars with something different (at least on the rabies side). You also get respected for what you are in duels....I don't get beat up on too many casters as they know ur limited to dueling them. There are also soo many nooblets in pubs that are amazed at what rabies can do... makes it fun. Although, you get a lot of "hax!!??!!" comments... which I take as a compliment. Some people think i loaded up on 37 x 451pdsc's which is funny to hear, but they never can figure out how it kills them or it spreads to their team =/ . A good fury can be a mean skill too giving you a nice 1, 2 punch.... rabies bite then finish with fury. Even tho I don't come close to winning most of my duels, I think I'll enjoy playing him for a long time.

Well, some people (including some fury/rabies players - speaking from experience) are not aware of the fact that the shift-fury animation is not visible to others...

Heehee.. how funny would it be if you had a left click lock and shift lock and just let your wolf idle and see how many upsuspecting jokers die as they walk by or jump you as you appear to be afk  .

Fury / Rabie wolf if you like a challenge and dieing a lot , dont bother with it if your exspecting to have it thrown together in a few weeks. Take many months of gettin gear for it to make it affective and even then you wont wtf pwn all.

Disadvantages Necros , smiters , teleporters , fc zons , trappers , basically any thing that teleports.

Make a necro if you want to kill more stuff

Fun character to play when made right.

Biggest Disadvantages would be vs all es / sorcs & far cast zons everything else would be beatable.

IMO bm bone necro would be a shapeshifters biggest enemy. Decrepify + Bone prison is just annoying.

(only read initial post, sorry if it's been said)

I'm a wolf aaddict so I say F/R. Bone necros, being as strong as they are, are a very common build... which is something I try and avoid, they are just another caster. It takes a certain amount of skill to play a wolf that the necro doesn't require, if you likfe the challenge of being the underdog and watching people fall at the strike of your claw you know which build is for you. =)

Awoooooooooo! ha.

Would a wolf beat a es sorc with one good fury?
All depends on her energy shield. If a sorc had a mediocre ES, maybe 2.5k, then I'd say it's possible. Although I never go this route because biting with rabies is way more effective plus it's hard to get them to stand there to complete a full fury. As soon as they see that red aura light up around them and they're char goes green they tend to tele off of you to see what hit them. Make your rabies switch and they're good as dead (unless they're a 20k+ FB AA sorc w/ treks and a carrion that just pounds you after you bite:undecided: ).

What you're asking does work tho. Alot of sorcies will tele on top of you with fb and if you shift/fury you can put a good hurtin on them, but usually they're able to retreat with a decent es. If they're max block as well...you got problems.
