If it were me, I would be making a Duress. If you have a nice 4os armor I would go for stone, unless you particularly like DR. I always used shaft as an intermediate armor, I never upp'd it.lior said:I want to know which would be better, should I get a shaft or concentrate on a stone.
obedience? forges ?Hetchman said:Stone is good. Not cheap, but not real expensive either. Wait for a 4 socket ethereal armor with good defense. I made mine in an ethereal hellforge plate (905 base defense IIRC) and got myself a 3200+ Defense stone. (rolled 1% away from perfect on enhanced defense)
That particular merc, coupled with his obedience and his Tal's hat NEVER dies. like ever. period.
Do lots of pit runs for the armor, and hope like hell on your forges and countess runs. Stone isn't terribly hard to pull off. Shael Um Pul Lum.
Nothing terribly expensive in there.
tal hat has more leechlior said:obedience? forges ?
I just sold an eth sacred with a base of 1018
Anyway, going with a 3000+ stone would be better then a shaft you say?
And why tal hat and not a gaze?
Why use a fortitude, what does it give?MyCompSucks said:tal hat has more leech
i'd say that about hte stone
my merc uses Fort, Andys, Eth Insight and only dies to IM, but that a bit expensive
If he wasn't using the fort, i'd use a stone, but the wep and helm can be found cheap
fort give res, def, enhanced damage and more stufflior said:Why use a fortitude, what does it give?
And why use insight? I currently use cresent moon which is very cheap also.
Where can I see fort stats? I checked several sites and they separate what it gives to weapons and what it gives to armor, and where they state what it gives to armor, there isn't much.MyCompSucks said:fort give res, def, enhanced damage and more stuff
i use insight because it is my hammerdins merc and provides meditation and i almost never go below 600 mana (have like 620) even when spammign hammers/tele
if you don't need med i'd say go obedience or CM, the static is nice
Obedience is: Hel + Ko + Thul + Eth + Fal, even less than the CM
also, if you can try to make it in an eth polearm or make the armor in an eth armor
it does work iirc, on some chars, i have those in the stash for boss killings and stuff.franzjosef said:..and I thought I was hot stuff for making Stone in an ethereal loricated mail suit. Oh well, I'll have to settle for my 'piddling' 2759 defense...
I suppose Tals vs Andys is a matter of taste, unless your merc is hurting on strength to pick up that big Bonehew or Reapers erc. Also a question of level, since Andys is a clvl 83 hat. Another option, especially for boss runners, is Guillaume's Face from the Orphan's Call set. No leech but 35% CB (we did settle that CB works on mercs?). Socket it with an Amn and let your big boy tank.
if you don't need the str, you probally dont need an andy'slior said:My merc is for a sorc.
So I'll keep my CM, but if I can get my hands on a forti, should I?
And between tal's andy's and gaze?
infinity? not doom?MyCompSucks said:if you don't need the str, you probally dont need an andy's
What are the merc res, if not maxed used Tals over gaze otherwise gaze (why don't these show up on mercs, they look awesome)
fyi, best merc wep for a sorc is an infinity polearm, with is ber +mal+ber ist, so..... I'd say go for the the fort or stone
It's the AURA!!! Can you think of a better aura for a sorc than conviction???lior said:infinity? not doom?
