i feel eth zerker botd is best coz it has more single hand damage than eth cb botd and also is faster than cb so i would say get that zerker and make botd and get that extra bit of more dmg irrespective of the enhanced damage because 367 ed zerker has sam single hand damage like 392 ed eth cb botd

choice is yours good luck

400% ebotd cb = 335 avg dmg
400% ebotd ba = 355 avg dmg
400dmg grief ba = 447.5 avg dmg

zerker has actually always been the best choise just cause the dmg is a tiny bit better :D

When you make those calculations, are you taking +30 to STR from BOTD into account ? I read somewhere that, for a barb, 1 STR = 1% dmg...

Those are weapon dmg numbers, strength is applied at the total damage stage on the final weapon damage, even so the difference isnt that great.

Yes, I know. That's what I mean: what weapon will give the highest dmg after all (Final result)?

As rik says, the difference to the comparison isn't that great as the difference in base damage is so large. It will close the gap slightly but grief will still give alot more.
Benefit of botd over grief is life it seems and maybe the -25%def.

Grief has -25% as well. The huge life bonus thanks to the stats is the main benefit, as is the onboard mana leech. The indestructible mod isn't half bad either, nor are the lower requirements and increased IAS, which makes it valuable for non-whirlers who need to hit breakpoints.

Grief Phase blades or Flamebergs are my choice! both are fast and the damage is awsome!!!

you wont appreciate them till you try them!

note: dont look at the damage in a character screen, its Wrong!!!

I hope you meant Colossus Sword and not Flamberge...

Also, I would pick eBotD colossus blade for style over the better zerker axe.

What about Grief? Same thing applies right? Drop in damage for style? Or should I completely avoid Grief Colossus Blade like the plague. I know I'll have to make my own. And Grief does work in swords so...:)

colossus sword is useless grief if using ww. Base damage doesn't matter so much as +damage is so large so flamberge can be a decent choice.

i have grief on my zerker baba and he does great. not to mention getting a Lo rune is heck of alot cheaper than a zod and a vex :)

but, if your set on botd go zerk axe it is just better.

Flamberge is cheaper then CB

Flamberge can also hit last WW BP with only 25%ias.

And the damage average isnt all that far.

Flamberge is the second fastest sword grief can be put in. There are 2 reasons to use it over a phase blade:
1) Lower requirements (This is probably not a big deal though)
2) Better Range
The Flamberges biggest downside may be that other character will not be able to use it one handed so it is worth considerably less if you are trying to trade it.

I still can't imagine anyone who would want to put in in a Flamberge instead of a Phase blade though. Of course there are several axes that you could also look at.

Now for your question, is botd better in a CB or Zerker?
The only benefit that the CB has over the zerker is that is can be used 2 handed for more damage vs characters that you don't need a shield versus. However, the Zerker counters this with a better damage, faster speed, and the ability to use another weapon with it assuming your a barb. Of course the weapon of choice is a Beast zerker. So there is really no contention between the two unless you are going on looks or simply have an ethereal CB and don't want to go through the hassle of trading for an ethereal Zerker.
