Where to level help needed!!

Can anyone tell me if there is still a guide for the max xp for your level where you should be killing? I use to have a program where you typed in your level and it would tell you the best place to be killing for max xp. If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it thanks.

You know it's bad when someone needs "a program" to tell them how to level..this noob needs to find another "program" about JUST PLAYING THE GAME.

Maybe he can find yet another "program" where he sits at the cpu, and doesn't have to so a thing(but watch)...because the "program" will do it all for him: place his Stat & Skill points, put on his equipment, level him(in the correct area's),make trades, and even find him friends.

Geez...I need a drink now

:drink: :drink: made it a double

This is like the 5th post in a row I've read of yours where you're being an ***. He's just asking for help and you bite his head off.

Calling others "noobs" only shows your ignorance.

As for the lvling, you can either go here:
http://darkness.diabloii.net/beastiary/
and look up the monsters levels and see what area is about your level (or up to 10 above your level, I think?)

Or you can do the following, which I do:

If you were to start from lvl 1:

lvl (Which lvl you are) = Where at
lvl 1-19 = Act I-II (Questing)
lvl 20-24 = Normal Cow Runs (only takes a few to hit 24)
lvl 25 = Ancients
lvl 26-39 = Normal Baal Runs
lvl 40 = Nightmare Ancients
lvl 42-70 (as low as 60, as high as 80) = Nightmare Baal Runs
lvl 71 (as long as you're at or above 60) = Hell Ancients
lvl 72+ = Hell Baal Runs

Please don't spout the "Oh, why don't you play the game it was meant to be played" bullpoo again. After playing through the game about a million times, I don't really feel like doing it again.
I don't play D2 for the sake of beating the game, I play for the sake of having good characters.

I'll help this guy.

I'm assuming you are playing on b.net with other people. If you want to get exp and level like crazy, let me tell ya the ONLY BEST place to go:

BAAL RUN

The rule of thumb for Baal run is

1) < lvl 50, Normal Baal
2) lvl50 ~ lvl 80 Nightmare Baal
3) > lvl 80 Hell Baal

Complete all the necessary quests as fast as possible to run Baal. Ask other people for help if you need. Make a game like "Rush me for NM." I'm sure many people will come. These quests include:

Act 1 Andy
Act 2 Staff, Ammy, Arcane, Dury
Act 3 Trav, Merphy
Act 4 Diablo
Act 5 Ancients

You need to get to certain levels to beat the ancients or go to the next difficulty level. But if you play with a party, that's not a problem at all.

Ideally, if you play 3~4 hours a day, leveling to lvl 80 in one week is guaranteed. After lvl 80, it will get slower. Just remember to avoid death in Hell. lvl 90 is reachable for everyone.

I have a feeling that the new trend in this game is not to level up, which is disgustingly easy now, but to collect the gear you want, which can take you life time.

Yep, basically what I said.

Though getting to lvl 80 in NM is rather frivilous IMO. You can easily get to lvl 80 from 70 in Hell Baal runs in half the time it takes to do it NM.

"Ignorance is Bliss"

True ignorance would be for me to just go on with more "bullpoo" and junk like that, but since I'm not ignorant in that way...I won't.

Also, If you don't like what I say or how I say it....then "ingore it"

Don't think I was an @zz in your post now was I?

In closing...Whatever

What beauty, what grace. *tear* HoS, you are an artist

yea but, hopefully you won't need a program to tell you that baal runs are best way to lvl up... I mean, I could write that program and I don't have any program-writing knowledge whatsoever.

But yea, baal runs is the answer.

[start program]
Display"Type question about leveling here:______________________________________
Then press 'enter'"

(enter=Display"Baal runs")

[/end program]

Man i'm awesome :drink:

Blackjack is cool.:)

I differ in opinion on this one. Baal runs are guaranteed to lvl ya and fast, yes, but there is sort or tiered system to lvling and expeience gain, as we all know.

Baal/wsk can be overtaken at certain levels by other spots. As I've seen in a "guide" posted in the strat compendium. Babyeyes I recomend you check that out, if you haven't allready.:)

The information in the guide I mention though is more for solo playing, though. In a group baal runs might be tough to beat, I don' know for sure though. I know I'm gonna start looking for a few other areas to play. I used to like baal runs in 1.09 becasue it was a welcome change to bloody's. Now I might start to run some other area...maybe the Arreat Summit. That sounds fun.:fish:

Also why in the necro forum post this? Are we that cool.;)

I have a nifty link to a chart that shows which acts give you best xp for each lvl, the only catch is that you have to decide what areas to run in those acts. If I remember to check it when I get home, I'll post it for ya.

only one little comment on bjb0mb3rz's given advise (which is pretty correct)

instead of 20-24, i prefer to do cowruns a bit longer. till 27-28 or so, they go faster than baal's i think. If good cow runs are available that is of course...

for the levels 1-20, try either playing in games with many players, or if you have the ability to do so, solo in games with many players (mule parks).
Leveling these levels i actually find to go best if i do all quests in act1 and 2 with a decent party. unfortunately everyone seems to prefer being rushed and then do crappy sewer runs, so a good party is pretty rare. (the sewer runs are crappy cuz they do not exp faster than doing the quests in act2 with a good party and they are constantly interrupted by pk's)

after level 80, i see many people do chaos sanctuary runs, but baal runs really give about 5 times as much experience. Just have a Tgods for the gloams. Pit runs are another option to level after 80, they are decent for mfing meanwhile as well.

At very high levels (around and above 90) i think baal runs are the only real option. since baal himself will be the only opponent who is not 10 levels below you and thus does not give a crappy 5% experience.
The pit, mausoleum and ancient tunnels should work until the low 90's (full exp at lvl 90, decreasing to 5% exp at lvl 95) since they are lvl 85 area's.

edit: the above mentioned chart is probably the one that is linked somewhere here in the strategy section. If so, it is kinda useless. It only looks at the exp per monster. Not at how many monsters you can kill per minute, how dangerous the monsters are and where most people on battle.net are to party with. The information you have gotten in this thread is much much more usefull.
