Where should I spend my gold

I've been away from D2X a couple years (playing DAoC) but am recently back. I used to spend my extra gold gambling for SoJ's at the merchants, but I have heard that the odds of getting a unique from gambling are now VERY low.

My Paladin is now 68 and starting to accumlate gold. What is the best way to spend this gold currently?

    Thanks

Yeah, you need huge quantities of gold to pay the tolls that death keeps demanding.

Otherwise you might like to gamble for rings, amulets and coronets for a fair chance at some good rares (you can get uniques too, but the probability is too low to mention). Ideally you should do this with a level 86+ (I think) character so you can get +2 skills amulets.

gamble for rings. since 1.10 came out i have gambled alot and gotten 2 set rings( which stinks but gives me hope for a soj) . but remeber now you can get dual leech rings cha ching !

also if you get high enough level you should gamble for swords you can get an awesome rare sword and even if it just turns out to be say a tusk sword with godly mods you can upgrade to a balrog blade. I found a giant rare sword for upgrading with 3525 ed and other decent mods !

    good luck !

I always gamble for amulets, as I'm still lacking a good one for my necro.

You might also consider gambling for circlets.

There really is no point to hoarding gold unless you have some VERY high repair costs. I find its best to gamble the gold away after accumulating a smaller amount rather than trying to wait until I get the max gold. This decreases the chance that you'll lose a bunch of gold from a death. Since there's no reason to have tons of gold on hand, you may as well spend it as you get it.

PS - wow, you've really been away from D2 for a long time.

I always gamble amulets once my stash is full of gold. (Circlets/rings on occasion, but mainly amulets). It got me Tal Rasha's amulet a few weeks ago, so now I'm hooked on gambling :)
