    Where is everyone?

    Look at this:

    "Diablo 2 & Diablo 3 Forums Statistics
    Threads: 530,080, Posts: 5,408,823, Members: 115,208"

Over 100k members! And yet there is only really ever a few hundred members online, and the most ever was:

"Most users ever online was 2,793, 28-03-2008 at 14:26."

OK quite a few hundred but essentially,

    Where is everybody?

(or am I misinterpreting these figures?)

    Re: Where is everyone?

Nearly 3k users online isn't bad at all! I do believe that number has been larger though, but it might have been reset during forum crashes.

But to explain the numbers a bit, you must keep in mind that Diablo2 is an old game. This forum has been around for quite a long time, and the number of people playing the game now is far lower than when the game was new, or when LoD was released.

There are several thousands of banned accounts too, not only "normal ones", but advertising bots etc. If you want to (that is, if you are really bored) you can check random members by clicking a member, then change the id step by step in the url to browse through. That would give you an idea of when most people were logged in last time. Older members aren't here anymore, mostly. :azn:

That's total number of registered users since the forum went active ...years ago. It does not take into account people that created an account but no longer visit. Also, we are all in different time zones and different parts of the world, so we're not all online at the same times.

    Re: Where is everyone?

So that (115,208) number doesn't really reflect the number of accounts that are not banned and have been active in, say the last six months. Oh well, thanks a lot, I might waste some of my time in the suggested manner at some point as well.

    *edit:

I brought up my profile and then jumped to another by changing the id, and then I thought how can there be over 100k accounts ever made if there are only 6 digits of user id? (facebook for example has 9) As far as I can see this only allows for exactly 100,000 different combinations?

    Unless you recycle...

    Re: Where is everyone?

    6 digits = supports a million accounts.

    000.000 - 999.999

Counting in the 000.000'th account, it gives us exactly 1 million.

    Re: Where is everyone?

This is still busier and has more members that other forums.
I'm quite surprised the amount of regular people that are on here, considering the age of the game

But then, the age of the regulars is quite a bit over 13 too. :azn:

    /vouch :jig:

Imo no game I played so far (talking about hack 'n slash games ofc) beats D2, and I wonder if any game but D3 will ever achieve that, and then still :fire:

    Re: Where is everyone?

This the unbreakable spirit of diabloii.net members, and the reason why this site will continue discussing and rejoicing in a certain game for ever. A game that many shops don't even stock on the sierra sold out label any more, and the unbelievers can do nothing!

You know, I live in Norway, and I still see Diablo 2 and LoD CD boxes in shops, and a pretty awful lot of them.

Well to find one over here is hard... If you have luck, 2 stores in an entire city have a bunch of copies

    Re: Where is everyone?

Well in Gloucester, England I went into all the specialist shops, there are probably about five in the city centre (it's not a particularly big city), and no copies, even in all the trade in/second hand sections.

(I was looking for a second copy for a friend, and wouldn't have minded finding another one four myself, I got a couple off amazon in the end, about GBP 4.50 plus postage, alright price, it's probably cheeper in the states, it seems everything is...:bored:

    Re: Where is everyone?

Why not order online? I think it's pretty possible. The only downsides are the waiting time and the freight costs.

[EDIT]: Nevermind, didn't read the stuff in brackets.
