    When will the game save?

Got my LoD-cd scratched, getting random errors 'corrupted file blablabla' and then the game 'll shut down- without saving of course. Now I want to know, for until I've got myself a new cd, when the game decides it's time to save a char.

Already lost some pretty good items I found this way :/ One thing I do know though, it saves after you've died- so there's one negative aproach ;)

AFAIK the game does an autosave every 10 minutes. BUT the game must be running in the foreground all the time, you can't switch to some other program and wait for the save to happen, it won't in this case ;)

I apologise if this breaks forum rules or something but,

there is a file you can download that will run the game with out the CD in the drive. this will save you the money, and it means you can listen to other music while you play.

The CD has to be in the drive to start the game, but once it runs you can safely take out the CD and your game will continue to run. That is assuming you have chosen to install the full version, of course.

Going to try that right away, sounds like a good idea. Now the question is, will it upgrade to full with those files corrupted... I'll update on this, thanks.

If you weren't playing with the full installation and you received those problems, I'm guessing you won't get them anymore now that you have upgraded to a full installation.

Hmm, how about reinstalling the entire thing instead of just upgrading the current installation? Maybe the corrupted files are not CD-related in any way, that would also explain why you could upgrade the installation without any problems. If that still doesn't help, try playing without the CD as I suggested before... Starting the game with the CD in the drive, and as soon as it runs, taking the CD out.

    Good luck!
