When to stop running NM Meph?

I'm a 78 Fishymancer, and have done around 150 or so runs of NM Meph.

I'm now wearing

Head -> Peasant Crown
Weapon -> Ume's Lament
Shield -> Trang-Oul's Wing
Body -> Skin of the Viper Magi
Amulet -> Magic +1 Necro skill
Belt -> Bladebuckle
Hands -> Trang-Oul's Claws
Feet -> Treads of Cthon
Ring -> Manald Heal and crappy rare

Merc is using

Head -> Guillaume's Face
Body -> Boneflesh
Weapon -> Hone Sundan ( 3 Eths )

Should I continue running NM Meph or try to run Hell Meph instead?

Go to Hell! (The Pit to be precise)

...

May I ask why your merc's Hone is socketed with Eths? They don't do any good for him. A combination of Shaels and Amns is the way to go.

So long as your fire and lightning resist are 40-ish or higher in Hell, you're ready for Hell, and Hell Meph.

Oh damn, I was actually gearing up my merc so he'll kill Meph as fast as possible. I was looking at him thrusting away but he misses quite a good number of times, so I thought those Eth runes will help his hit rate... *Slaps self*

In that case will you guys recommend running Hell Meph or just Hell Pits? Or should I hunt for some MF gear first?

Summoner necros excel in area running, but the returns are not as fast as boss killing, which sorcs excel at.

Start off with the Pits.

Meph is best done with an item with teleport charges, so that you can 'blob' him with your skellies, gumby and merc.

I traded for a teleport amulet just today, so what i'm doing on NM meph is just teleport straight to him without raising any skeletons at all, then summon grumpy to tank, and the merc will kill him in like 15 seconds.

But this is getting sick, think i'll go a few rounds in the Pits, thank you for the advice Frost and Toppo!
