When to start hell?

Hello all,

I've come back after a 7yr hiatus and have been in the process of recreating my zoomancer; he's almost 78 now. I'm curious as to when its safe to start questing hell, and when to start hell Baal runs for xp.

Also, what are people talking about when they say players1/players8? Are they referring to the max number of players set for a game? How does it affect the game?

I usually start hell between lvls 70-80, personal preference really. If your having trouble in Nightmare, stay there, if not, go on to hell difficulty.

players1/players8 are a coomand that you can type in on single player mode. It mimics the effects of having more players in the game, like you would have in a multiplayer game on battle-net.

The more players in the game, the more life each monster has, giving you more exp. It also increases the drop rate of items. Keep in mind though that players/8 settings will make the game significantly harder when you are solo.

I started my fishy at like level 50. If you have all or most of your main skills, go for it. Baal runs are boring anyways

I went early on my fishy too, 55-60 I think. My casters usually wait till 70. You will notice when nightmare gets easy, and lvling gets really slow. Thats when it's time to move on.

I too tend to enter Hell around level 60 with my Fishymancers. But I have 2 comps and am always playing the equivalent of /players 2. So even with skipping much of A3 (only do minimum required to get to Durance) and A5 (run from Town to first Ice Tunnels WP, bypassing anything I can) gets me to that level by the time I finish NM. And I've never really had a problem making progress in Hell after getting there.

I like to go hell when im lvl 75 because then i can get my hands on hellfire torch.
