When to leave NM?

Lvl 73 atm with my meteorber, "ok" gear (nothing fancy though since im untwinked). What level should be good enough to plow through hell and start MF-ing Andy // Meph in your opinions (im mostly playing solo-games btw)

You should be OK right now, especially since you're dual-tree. I had a bit of difficulty(blizz sorc) untill I got my merc a decent weapon, now everythings fine.

trouble is, my merc dies instantly vs any pack with some punch (even though hes got a decent wpn, tal helm and shaftstop, its getting expensive reviving him all the time

Reaper's Toll is cheap and keeps him alive very well with its decrepify proc. My merc sports a reaper's/ guilliaume's face/ duriel's shell and he is very durable. With proper teleporting/ positioning, he should rarely die unless your against some uber pack or boss.

Merc is same lvl as me -73. Andy kills him in notime btw
