What's up with the burning souls?

:thumbsup: i noticed that every plan you guys gave hos no variation for the bowazon, i was wondering what the best way to make a viable bowazon against souls and stuff. I haven't been back into diablo since the 23 new rune words but i've seen them and it looks like there are alot of bow combos.

good news for an all time bowazon fan :uhhuh:

Souls = Bane of my existance

Right up there with a dual immune super fast MSLE Lister pack O_O;

(It was at that point in time I remembered why I excluded the throneroom from my mf (pathetic mf runs at that) runs and such)

Souls or Stygains. Easiest most annoying/highest probabilty of death enemy ever to grace (or whatever you'd call it) D2.

I quite happily took out a large group of souls in nightmare, before that evil lister spawned with that... above... nonsense...of sorcy death o_O;

Anyway, i'm babbling

Souls suck, end of story :)

.P.S. How come Blizzard haven't sorted this, anyway? You think people'd complain....... or something, y'know....

Well, if you know there are souls up ahead, you can always keep shooting blindly in that direction, from a distance. The skills Avoid and Evade also help a lot against their attacks.

I'd recommend finding yourself a wand with charges of dim vision to carry on switch when running WSK. Cast your valk as Myrkah mentioned casting his Clay Golem, and if she gets nailed with lightning at the edge of the screen get your dim vision charges out. That should quiet them down long enough for you to take them out.

Then again, the last time I played a zon was 1.08, so I can't remember if the Valk can be cast at the edge of the screen or not. Still, a dim vision charges wand is your best bet.

Another option as bowa: Assuming it isn't the entrance of throne that's trapped, those are some pretty long straight corridors to the throne room. Shoot a multi, if you see leech swirls spam. Cheap, but effective. Won't hit em if they're in one of those side areas though. Hope you have good res and tgods...

I used the find that the best way to take on Souls with a zon is to use Decoy and Valk. That keeps them distracted so you can either blast them with your bow or walk on by.

Unfortunately you can't spam your Valk anymore, as there's a 6 second casting timer on her.

However, I guess that's what Decoy's for. :D

This should go without saying, but don't cast a minion directly in front of yourself. The bolt will just go through and hit you anyways.

The decoy tactics works quite well, but a particularly nasty soul pack kills it in a second and you will be next, as the valk and the merc are at the wrong spot all to often. I let my bowazon run zig-zag when approaching. However, these lightning bolts are, well, lightning-fast, so you still get hit half of the time. Oh yes, and if gloams come with defilers and perhaps red dolls as well, you really have a problem, as you need a lot of space to get rid of the dolls - space you might not have because of the souls... and a long as a single defiler sees you, he revives souls and dolls again and again.

Man, what I wouldn't give to get my cleric into that situation. All of those are undead, so it should be pretty fun (and quick).

True, but if you spent any time investing points in valk, you can usually live with just casting her once. Even my decoy could stand up to enough punishment for me to run by without worries, if i decided to not attack at all.
