Tell us your current equip please and perhaps we can help? Though [email protected] seems to be the resident wolf expert, you may want to simply consult his guide.

depends on whether youre pvp or pvm. due to the lowered efficiency in pvm, im going to assumer youre pvp.

heres what i think is the best setup:

wolfhowl  shael OR um OR cham (dont double cham if you put in storm)
enigma OR duress OR stone
dracs. NOT ik gloves
storm (um OR cham OR shael)
azurewrath (shael) OR shael-shael-ed/ias-ed/ias griz weap OR botd phase blade
verdungo
eth treks OR up'd gores

MELEE: angelic ammy/2x rings
CASTER: maras/anything -- raven if youre being frozen. leech is pretty much useless in pvp unless you trigger lifetap.

anni
warcry OR mastery OR a ton of max/ar/life charms

2x hoto on switch for transforming and warcrying.

Prebuff for wolf and than switch helm over to Arreat's Face.

The reason i'm wearing IK gloves is cause of the huge bonusses to strenght and dex, which alows me to put 40 !!! more point into vitality. Arkains also boosts the feral rage + wherewolf + lycanthropy by +2 and gives me a huge life boost. What would ( except for teleport ) be the advantage of wearing Engma on an Wolfbarb by the way ? And leech works pretty nice imo, adding everything up with Feral Rage i get arround 50% life steal, doenst this work at all on pvp or what? Thnx for the info sofar people.

Cham is rather pointless unless you plan on chasing some one. Having an Arreat's Face will be no real different than having Wolfhowl, and the Feral Rage skill gives off way more AR than Arreats. Now there's such thing as ideal equipment however I don't think there can be any "perfect" set up. I consider mine a rather very successful build, take a look in my guide if you are intrested to see what I use.

enigma is amazing for strength bonuses, maximum life, and even some damage reduction. dont forget +2 skills

duress, i think, is my favourite armor of the whole bunch, after prebuffing with a +2 armor. with a (relatively easily) attainable 1500 defense, open wounds (important in pvp), crushing blow (also very cool), resists, fhr, and hey even some enhanced damage and cold damge -- theres not much to dislike about this armor.

drake's right about a lack of an 'ultimate' setup. just do what works best for you -- including wearing those (IMO) sad, sad, ik gloves  -- and just keep adjusting until youre satisfied. drake's guide is great (although some of the items i would have liked to see were not discussed, albeit rarely).

BTW, congrats on the 400th post

and BTW again -- leeching is cut to 1/10th of the given % IIRC, so even with feral's 50%, you'd only have 5%. because of a wolfbarb's low physical damage (i think the standard amount is about 1k), then damage reduction, then probably some other factors blizzard just felt like putting in to nerf duel leeching  youre barely leeching anything. trust me, i used to have a wolfbarb on NL and he sucked pretty bad against some tough melee opponenets until life tap from dracs triggered.

EDIT: last BTW, i promise -- drake is, again, right about cham being pointless unless youre chasing a teleporter. a wolfbarb's attack speed is not affected by being frozen, but his run speed IS affected.

Ah yes, well when you do have the time we shall debate more on that. More over I would like to have a duel on single player with our different builds. (In a realistic aspect.)

:howdy: My first post... im no longer a lurker

Anyways, I built my wolfbarb for pvm and he has no lowered effiency... in fact, he is the best pvm build I have ever made and owns everyone in hell difficulty (except of course the iron maidens)... when I get some time tomorrow I'll post his equipment if your interested in that... Nightie Night!

welcome to the forums, lazziness! i believe i just saw you in the east trading forums.

i meant lowered efficiency as in killing speed, not in viability. my wolfbarb basically rushed himself through hell without dying a single time, then rushed two friends later on. still, no dying. however, each rush took about an hour to complete. which i find is a ridiculous waste of time.

wolfbarbs can be immortal in terms of pvm. with a charged feral rage and a triggered life tap, and the use of a proper weapon (i used a shael'd azurewrath :D) iron maiden is much less of a problem. still gotta be careful, though.

Well, you just helped us all Wolfbarbs learn something new by asking me to do this. As I was testing this things were going as I'de expect however when using the Beast weapon it swings at the frame it is suppoe to except in the Beast Berserker Axe ever5 hits it would jump one frame. I did the same for a Caducues except that jumped 1 frame after every 9-10 swings. So over all, yes Fanaticism helps in a very strange way. However I can not say the same for the othe Wereshifters as I am bound to test it some day.
