What's the "Most Fun" PvM build for each class?

I'm finding this thread very helpful, as I kind of have the same question. Thing is, I have to stop planning builds around the most elusive OP items I can think of, lol.

I will say that I have enjoyed each one of my 1.13 characters, but the ones I still run with are my WW Barb (Trav) and my beta Bramble Poisonmancer (Pits, CS, WSK) cuz I like running /P8. I didn't do much with my gunslinger Zon or my Fury Druid once I finished the game with them.

If you use enigma and teleport (no poofing issues will occurring if teleporting) then infinity + insight IG is best imo. Put some extra points into golem mastery if you need to, because novamancers can really spare the extra points past 60 + 20 for poison + max CE. Infinity makes a large difference and an extra meat shield doesn't hurt either :D. Including BO and ~10 points in golem mastery + skills you should be able to get a golem with 8-10k life easily. BO applies in a multiplicative way with golem mastery and the golem's base life

On both counts you are completely misunderstanding the entire point.

Phoenix is literally half the reason the Doom/Phoenix build is so stupid but also so fun. We could go the theorycrafting route where I mention that the Firestorm damage on Phoenix is nothing to scoff at when you have a Merc carrying Insight and it's synergized to shit, but that's not the point: Of course Stormshield is better, of course Grief is better, or some epic poleaxe. But this thread is about fun builds, not optimized builds, or I would have just linked to any one of the four quintillion Fury Druid builds that tell you to use an upgraded Zod'd Ethereal Ribcracker or Grief or whatever. The point was to find the most enjoyment possible out of a class, and Doom/Phoenix? That build is freaking it, believe me.

As for Infinity vs Obedience, you missed the boat again: Infinity doesn't touch poison resist making it a waste for a Poisonmancer, and when you're running Nova/CE you want your Merc to kill the first target as soon as optimally possible so that you can start the CE chain. Ethereal Thresher Obedience with 991 upper damage against an Amped target is perfect for this (doing more damage than Eth Reaper and without the annoying Decrepify proc), making it the merc weapon of choice for this build.
Relax mon. What I meant is that Doom is not just a 'fun' or weird weapon. Doom GPA is perhaps the best weapon for a fury druid even if you don't synergize the procs ( which admittedly don't do very much ). It is faster, has more dmg and better range the berserker axe ( no brainer really ). As for phoenix the blocking is a serious problem and it overall doesn't do much for you compared to just having a two hander. These are just my experience from playing the game ( fire claw bear grief/phoenix vs tombreaver this discussion is there in my Pat thread ), I'm not doing theory craft here.

The second part I wrote insight and not infinity. Insight is cheap, and very effective. Cheaper than obedience, in fact. I've experimented a great deal with Pit poison necros ( mostly with Ethereal BOTD or infinity ), and the mana problem solved by insight is a great deal more helpful in general. I know people like to use iron golem but it just doesnt work for me. After my sixth insight golem broke I just stuck the insight on the merc and it worked mighty fine. because pit monsters are terribly weak and you don't actually need high damage for them. Again, that's just my experience.

Purely on the fun-factor:
- Sorc: 1.13 bow enchantress
- Barb: thrower. Demands heavy twinking on the weapon-department.
- Assa: traditional trap-assa. You just can't beat that.
- Druid: 1.07 druid, where you could go the "jack of all trades" route.
- Pala: sry, I never had fun with pala.
- Ama: lightning-lance version. Terrible in efficiency, but I at least barely enjoyed it. I just don't like ama.
- Necro: melee necro. Never hada twinked-one, but walking around with a Scythe is awesome.

Funny to see that just about everyone picks high power characters. Granted i like killing monsters with great efficiency too. But i think the most fun i have/had is with some of my highly restricted tournament characters. They may be slow, but because of restrictions they require high focus and skill (oh, and don't forget a good portion of luck).

To pick a final favourite i'd have to think about it some more, but this girl is definately one of the top contenders.
