What do you mean by highest items?

Yes, you can gamble elite uniques, but the chances of that happening is extremely rare.

Personally I like to gamble for circlet and coronet in hope to find a nice +2 skill 20% cast rate +str and resist all.

Otherwise I gamble for items to craft, to ensure me they are the right level to make a good craft.

While we're on the topic:

I use a goldfind barb (bout 2k goldfind) at travincal to rack up gold. Use find item on the corpses afterwards, rinse/repeat. Best bet is to do this at nm trav and let the merc kill everything (load him up with wealth+crown of thieves and a big stick).

I'm fortunate enough to have multiple computers (just purchased a new computer today in fact, love it!!) with multiple cd keys, so lately I've been killing hell council with my paladin, and bringing the barb in for the goldfind. Piles top out for me at about 82k, but in hell council you can get some nifty drops as well.

Then I'll hit meph and kill his minions, using the barb there too.

Usually takes about 30 minutes using this method, to top out the gold at 2.7 million-ish.

THEN, I take the paladin with all the gold (highest level char, I suggest using your highest for gambling as the result is based on your character level, IIRC), and I switch out his weapon for edge runeword (-15% vendor price), and he also has a gheeds with -15% vendor price, and they stack.

SO, amulets only cost something like 47,000 instead of 63,000--- coronets are 118,000 and circlets are 80,000.

2.7 million goes a long way.

Last time around (prior to me quitting for the second time, and starting over) I managed to gamble a few usable uniques. This time around it's been a few low set amulets and crap uniques.

Just thought I'd blab a bit.

I calculated for myself, and if you have a 14 gheed like me, and no edge end you sell the rings for 2k each average, it takes this amount of gold to gamble a SOJ:

4.558.000.000

well, that's a lot.

If you get 3 million each 30 minutes and gambling takes no time, it would take 800 hours or something (5 weeks 24/7).

So i think you can better just play diablo instead of gambling rings :)
