pvm or pvp?

I would go with spirit for the pvm shield, if you dont want to invest that much str go with mosers? or luna? they add some nice resist and luna has nice stat bonuses too.

But spirit definitely is ur best choice

pvp

Stormshield

For PvM I prefer Pheonix. Never have to worry about leech. But its ofc alot more expensive than Spirit.

Most javas take advantage of the +20str Titans offers and other +str items to equip a Monarch. Investing that many hard points into str is a waste IMO unless your alt weapon is a spear or the like.

There are lots of good shields for javas, Mosers, Whistans, Rhyme rw, Gherkes, to name a few.

i prefer spirit for my javazon. if 156 str is a problem, i think mosers would be the best choice.

do you have all the end-game gear you're planning on using? if not, it may be a good idea to stick with a moser's or a lower str shield for now until you get the rest of the stuff you want, so you don't end up wasting points into str. i havent put a thing into str on my zon, and right now she has 182.

I like sanctuary shield on my javazons, nice block, nice resist and the 20 dex help for max block.
since i use enigma the ressi is nice :)

I use Spirit. I almost never get hit so the block doesn't really matter, and the skills, resists, and mana are extra goodies.

if you use enigma then spirit is a good possibility because you also get a lot of fcr/fhr, and if you use enigma you don't need to add str to your char (if you use ani, torch)

ifyou don't use enigma then phoenix will be a better option

spirit is the budget shield..

That shield is terrible only decent stat is the 25-35 block, everything else is pretty useless. The block is also terrible

Well I prefer to keep my str till I get to end game items and I'd imagine the damage would help if anything.

also to me the budget shield for runewords would be either a rhyme or a splender... 4os monarchs are a ***** to find if you don't have a mfer already

You're a lightning amazon with an +3hp per vita. You should be able to spare enough points to have Max Block and wear a monarch and still have a reasonable 1.5k life pool, at least. With your passive skills and resists/%dr, you should have no problem staying alive.

Not that MF would help when finding socketed items anyways, since more MF would mean that more monarchs would end up as magical or rare.

Monarch with lightning facets is the best for damage.

Spirit is also decent; +2 skills, great FHR, decent resists, etc.

Phoenix is great for mana recovery, but the firestorm destroys your IAS.

I use Spirit for killing, switch to Phoenix as I'm running to the next group, and then switch back to Spirit for attacking again. The Redemption aura usually kicks in at least once, which is all you need. A little mana leech helps a lot, too.

With the right gear, you don't have to worry about strength to use a monarch (strength requirement of 156):

20 starting
20 Titan's
15 Sandstorm Trek
56 Enigma (at clvl 75)
20 Annihilus
20 Hellfire

Total of 151. Throw in some set, unique, rare, or crafted gloves with a bit of +strength and you don't need any points in strength at all (and depending on how much strength you get on them, you don't even need the other items to be perfect).

I get monarchs all the time, even when i am not looking for them. Anyway even its a plain monarch, you can always use a socket quest on them to get 4 sockets. You know put those lvl1 mules you have to good use.

Also mfing won't make more 4 os monarchs appear, it get you more magical, rare and if ye lucky a unique monarch.

The best shield, is JMOD (jewelers monarch of deflecting), with 4x 5/5 facets.

Phoenix and spirit is also good, storm aswell.

cheers /marcello

well i dunno about you people but when I say mfing i basically just mean killing monsters. Hell I mf with my paladin and he's got about 60 mf on switch (whatever last wish gives) but when i was first "growing up" with my chars it was pretty hard to find what i needed..or maybe it was hard trading them off... i dunno anymore
