Whats better on a zerker???

I currently have a 217% ED GF, I'm considering trading it for an azurewrath... but I'm not really sure which would be more beneficial to my barb.

I kinda want the Azurewrath because of the sanctuary aura (who wouldnt want that? =D) plus the aura knocks back those stupid dolls ><

Any input here woul be nice.

Thanks in advance.

depends I guess on if you are going to be MF'ing? Lets say you are an MF'er then yes that sword would help you allot! Since if you run meph sanctuary would knock back the dolls and then if you run pindle it will help too. Of course for meph you would switch to ali's to finish him but atleast azurewrath would make running through durance helluva lot easier.

If I am wrong I blame it solely on not playing in 6 months :).

Azurewrath is pretty low damage for a zerker. Faster, but much lower damage than GF. And since zerk takes a few hits to kill, you don't want the monsters to be pushed back since you gotta go after them constantly.

Thanks for the help, but I kinda want the sanctuary to push back the monsters =\. I dont like having the dolls running up to me and blowing up.

That is what I was kinda getting at, just have it to use while running through durance to make it safer then switch to another sword or whatever.

I like the Grandfather, but Azurewrath is great too. I'd stick with the Grandfather if I were you, but I haven't really had a chance to test out Azurewrath for myself.

Point is, Azurewrath just doesn't deal enough damage to take down Meph easily and efficiently.

Yeah, I see your point. Now, is this one handed or two? I prefer two for a zerker, but you may need the resists and/or dr and/or block from a shield for Meph.

I almost never go 2 handed with a sword. Guess it's an old pvp habit. Besides, Gf should be doing enough damage one handed. Plus, shield=Dr% and resists and block. Always nice.

few things to remember, gf adds stats and life which is nice and does more dmg. Azurewrath on the otherhand is fast (gf is as slow as a turtle). Unless you're packing a ton of ias gear azurewrath is probably the way to go. Basically think about it this way, azurewrath min dmg > gf min dmg, gf max a lot higher, azure has cold and magic dmg, not to mention a base speed of -30 vs 5 on gf. IMO, you should go concentration/zerk with azure. And btw GF SUCKS 2 handed, its only good 1 handed since the max dmg per lvl is what gives gf dmg.

Sanctuary is pretty.
Do you want your big bad baba being associated with pretty?

And I'm with carnage on this one, KB is bad for a barb (except if you're WWing and can make it work right). If you don't want dolls running at you, that's what howl is for.

The cold and max dmg aren't added in the berserk dmg calculations. So that's just 1000 elemental dmg tacked on at the end. The average damage is more important than min or max. Average GF will do much more damage than average azure. Plus, it's not that hard to hit 10fps. Just need 90ias.

Personally I think that's the downfall. Sheilds are so vital that not having one means not being able to play effectively in the higher difficulties.

Weigh 200 more damage vs 30% dr , Res, block and ofcourse the protection those things bring.

Now, if it did another 400-500 damage...that'd be interesting.
