Whats better..crecent moon, infinity or 6 socketed sword with 6x 5/5 lite facets?

I've heard the crecent moon vs. infinity argument...but what about a 6 socketed sword with lite facets? That would give +30 lite dmg AND -30 light resisst. What u guys think? - resissts better than dmg?

infinity will give you -55, but you loose the 35FCR form spirit shield.
Crescent moon gives you magic dmg reduction and -35%


+light dmg only stacks on top of light mastery. Each extra lvl on light mastery gives you 12% more light DMG, so the +30% light damge is the same as +2.5 skill to light mastery.

I think infinity is the best one, if you can get good resists (or energy shield) and nice fcr (at least 78, 117 is better).

Can multiple RBFs break immunities? If not, you'd better go with the Infinity.

no, -% light res mods only works when mobs res are bellow 99.

I think he is thinking about using the infinity on the merc and crescent moon/Crescent Moon on the char.

Also, a 6 Raibow facets costs a looooooooooooooooooooooot more than a crescent moon for just really low extra dmg.

ok...so i should carry the infinity? But then i'd have to sacrafice Skills on the soj...;(. Also, i'm not realy a fan of the the "blue" sorc...I run into too many mana burn packs every single time, so im going for High resist / High life build..any suggestions? Should I carry infinity or not???

you can give the infinity to your merc. But then you will need griffons, crescento moon or both.

It you hit a 110 light resist monster the infinity will break it´s resists to 97, so you will have a hard time to kill him. you will need -%res on some item, and griffons and crescent moon will help you a lot.

griffs + crecent moon will lower about another 50...which gives still 50 more resists. I was thinking about this....infinity + griffs + viper + arach + magefist + 10 fcr...that would hit the 110 FCR (I'mma Nova Sorc). What u guys think? Would Nova be better than CB?

I prefer Nova to CB, but that's just my personal preference. Neither one is significantly "better" than the other, they just require slightly different playstyles (Nova is "100% aggressive", while CB is "~75% aggressive").



In my opinion, you only really "need" either Griffon's or CM, but not necessarily both. Having both (on top of the Infinity-merc) will increase your damage quite a bit against monsters with broken immunities, but it'll actually decrease your damage against many other monsters that aren't normally lightning immune (that is, compared to having a few more +skills on an Orb instead of Cresent Moon - the orb will win sometimes).


As for that equipment, your resists & FHR would be somewhat low... you don't (entirely) need Griffon's if you equip the Infinity yourself (since you'll have decent -Enemy Lightning Resists from the Infinity itself)...

Personally, I'd settle for a orb+shield combo and stick the Infinity on a merc. It provides a lot more opportunity to make your sorc well-rounded.

I think it's cool to have infinity on yourself. Also lets merc wield insight, and nova is a mana-drainer. And it looks awesome too. Infinity + griffons + facet and you're all set for both +% skil damage and -enemy resistance

If you're uncool, I'd suggest crescent moon

Also remember that +% skill damage stacks with mastery, so it doesn't do much
