This has probably been asked some time on these forums.. but i'm just curious.
so whats the worst type of music you know?
For me its the techno stuff... especially techno dance music. makes me want to puke.
I dont think country, jazz etc are suppoused to be on the poll
If they we're, I'd say I cant stand the VAST majority of country music. I dont really detest anything on the poll, though techno is by far my least favorite of them, though I'm not going to pass out or anything if I listen to it...
I don't dislike any full genre of music. I generally don't ever listen to bubblegum pop stuff (Ashlee Simspson, etc.), and there are only a handful of country songs I like, but I can't say I hate an entire genre.
hey, I gotta be kinda quick, i'm on lunch, but why does everyone have this thing against country? a lot of my friends say the same thing, and i just don't get it. is it too mellow? is it the politics? Country isn't the sad, really slow make you want to jump off a bridge sound anymore. Granted, there's not a lot of new country compared to other genres (well, maybe there is depending on how specifically you classify it, but even though it's not my first choice on the radio, I still enjoy some twang every once in a while.
the type of music i have the biggest trouble appreciating is rap. I like a few rap songs/artists...but I'm not a fan of when they don't really have any flow/don't really sing, just sorta talk. I don't think it's the whole genre, I just don't think there's as much good rap as people make it out like there is.
manly i left counrty out since its popularity is zero where i come from so i don't really think of it as a large music type. Probably is coz i've heard its massively popular in u.s.
pop I just forgot sorry, lets say it goes to the category "none of these" :uhhuh:
anyway if I made a poll with all different music types there would be hundreds of them. I can only have 10 different choices
I absolutely and unequivocally detest rap to the highest degree that anything can possibly be hated. And that's the nicest thing I can say about that.
I have mild issues with country, western, and bubblegum, as well as manufactured groups who sell albums not because they are good (which they never are) but because some marketing drones assembled a bunch of good looking young people, gave them instruments and called them a band.
Otherwise... I don't really hate much else, except for isolated random songs within genres I otherwise enjoy.
You should have included a "pop-" category, including pop-rock, pop-country, whatever. The abreviation for popluar doesn't bother me, but music generally gains this hyphenated prefix once it has become a watered down bubblegum version of something that was once real music. If you have ever thought, "Is this Hansen/Backstreet Boys/Shania Twain/Britney Spears, etc." you have identified a song that falls into this category. Add a drum machine, and A,C,D,G, chord progression, and some lyrics from one of those 8th grade girl romance novels, and you have, for me, the music that would be playing in the 7th level of hell.
