What will you do when the ladder resets?

Every so often a "When will the ladder reset?" thread will pop up. I don't wont this to be one of those threads. Instead I would like to ask a much more usefull question. What will YOU do when the ladder resets? I assume that most ladder players will join the new ladder. How will you find gear? What worked well for you in previous resets? For the purpose of this thread assume that it is day 1 of the reset, and you are in a race to find gear and lvl. Will you bother picking up and cubing low lvl runes? What items do you think you would hoard?

Here is one thought:

Build a char that you know will not make it past NM. Dump all your points into early skills (of course you will take advantages of synergies). Make the char gear independent, and load up on MF. You would need fast run/walk to charge to the next WP. I fireball/firewall sorc might be a good one for this, or a lightning zon. You could use this char to tweek your next char.

yep, probably erase all my old chars and start over. i might save 1 mule with some ladder-only items and high runes to sell.

right now, i haven't decided on my first ladder char, as what i usually do is make a 2nd and 3rd char very quickly depending on what early eq i find.

sorc and zon are both good for effectiveness in hell, and pretty difficult untwinked. however, barb/necro are better from 1-30, and don't need much eq. pally is not bad 1-90, but just boring.

Your ladder characters magicly become non-ladder. I would expect another "rust storm," which is what Blizzard calls it when they mass delete hacked, duped and other illigit items. So if you are 100% legit you would notice no difference, unless you were way up on the ladder! The cool thing is that there are some ladder only items and upgrades so you could have some gear that would be of high value when the reset happens.

So when the reset happens, there will be a new ladder eh? So there would be no way of ensuring that anything I have goes on new ladder characters. Can you convert characters from non-ladder to ladder?

absolutely not....which sucks...but the economy is fresh, which IMO is great...all of your ladder stuff and characters just turn non-ladder...cant bring em back...sorry

i'd start fresh, build myself a super sorc, mf-xp gain, and than pk, here i come.

I'll build another enchantress! That way, anyone i play with will benefit as well, and i'll get too baal faster. It is easy to do normal baal runs well into your 50's-60's, and then i would use that enchantress to rush ppl to NM. If i can get a group of ppl that all make an enchantress, we could have a major impact on the early ladder!

i do the same thing i did this ladder season in the next. i will make blizzard sorc and do massive meph runs,

i will not even care to get on the ladder, this if i want to, i will do this later, but like this season i find i dont play nearly enough to get or stay on the ladder, i have things i must do in my life that limit my free time

next time i will see if i cant get some of my friends to play and level a character made to do the ladder, maybe a summon necro, people seem to love then when thay dont have the good items to stay alive :scratch:

personally, I'd be happy if it never ended

people on ladder stayed on ladder, but the "ladder" where it lists the highest level char is reset, and only chars made after a certain date can be eligable

I'd make a Fireball/Orb sorc...my Meteorb is fun, but Meteor is hard to use in combat.

When is this supposed to happen? How often does it happen?

I also was thinking. When the new ladder starts, there's going to be no one to rush me, no baal run games spamming the servers, no one trading uber elite items, no mf runs, etc...

i got rich cuz the ladder so i am liking it. when it resets, i don't know, maybe i will get a clan and start a war like george bush's head 4 10 wfs. lol. i really don't know what to do.

Me, I'm gonna dump all my stuff to my non ladder friends, delete all my chars, and restart my blizz sorc and remake all my chars. Since I only started again a month ago, I would have a lot of time before the next reset. And I plan to break my record of level 82 :winner:

As for what I will do when the ladder resets, nothing out of the ordinary. I'd do a mephrun, or a pitrun, whatever. Boy do I feel relaxed about only playing non-ladder. :drink:

Maybe I'll give it a shot though... nah....

I am going to make a character capable of fast rushing to NM act four. Then make new char and rush it to NM act four on my second computer: then do forge quest. Rinse and repeat. All I want are runes runes and runes. Then upgrade runes and upgrade whatever elite equipment I might find.

What I'm going to do is give out all my stuff (don't know to who yet, probably just random people). Then I'm going to try to stock pile runes and try to get something nice. I'd want to make an interesting character, but one that isn't too dependant on having perfect equipment or anything.
