what to pump for pvp kicker?

I have invested the following skills:

11 dtalon (for lvl 23 when done)
max venom
max mind blast
1 wof
1 dflight
2 weapon block (for 60% ctb
1 shadowmaster

what else should I put points in? Im thinking maybe a few points to shadow master for ~2k life, and maybe a 1 point ls? some suggest getting max claw block but i think 3% ctb (1 hit in 33) for 18 skill points is a little bit pushing it. Maybe fade would be nice (i use bos now but can adjust my gear accordingly), but i honestly prefer bos. Some people seem to advocate extra skills to traps, this in my opinion is also just giving skillpoints for minimal damage. blade shield is absolutely useless now, is blade fury any good? Do venom and ow apply on blade fury?

Fade. The DR is hard to beat. Plus, extra stack is very useful in a lot of situations. It just gives you a lot of options. There are situations in which BoS are used, and there are situations in which Fade is used. It is nice to have the option.

Extra DF might also be nice for the extra damage.

In terms of 1 point wonders, there are situations in which LS is a better stunning device, simply because it is easier to catch runners with than WoF, so it is worth one of your free points. Also, Blade Fury is a one point wonder on an assassin which has no heavy hitting ranged backup. It is useful for applying open wounds to defensive Hammerdins. Yes, OW and venom apply. Do not rely on Blade fury though, it puts you in a weak position. MB is usually safer. Weapon Block is only really worth it if you are completely out of places to use your points...

Good luck, and congrats on playing a cool build.

1pt lit sentry (and death sentry for levelling too btw) should be spent.

2x WoF + 3x Lit Sentries is "the best" stunlocking combo.

Sure the dmg is really low from it, but the shear fact that if someone comes close you can inflict openwounds is an awsome thing. If you got points to use up and it's not already on your claws, i'd add 1 here.

Congrats on playing a wicked fun and cool build!

My personal opinion with Blade Fury is that while it is an effective means of delivering OW and Venom, because its AR is based on your normal attack, you will have a hard time connecting with it, and there are better things you can be doing versus defensive targets, such as MB, WoF, etc. That's just a personal opinion, however.

If you want to improve your assassin offensively, you can:

1. Put some points into Dragon Flight. While it is slow, interruptible, and buggy, you will get solid AR and Damage bonuses with no diminishing returns.

2. Put a few points into Cloak of Shadows. Suffers from heavy diminishing returns once you get to lvl 20ish, but it will temporarily give you a slight increase in your own Defense, as well as lowering your target's defense by a percentage. Of course, it's buggy and nerfed PvP, but when facing a high-defense target, every little bit helps.

3. If you EVER use WW (say, defensively versus smiters), claw mastery will increase your AR bonus.

If you want to improve your assassin defensively, you can

1. Put points into Shadow Master. As you probably know, beyond lvl 17, she will only get more life and resists, and will spawn with the best equipment possible. Unfortunately, a couple points won't make a huge difference (good barbs and smiters will still one-hit her), nevertheless, if you use Enigma (or even Dragon Flight), your Shadow Master will save your life countless times because of minion stacking on teleport.

2. As some have mentioned, Fade is a very useful skill, and you are going to want to hit that 50% DR versus some opponents. It suffers from very heavy diminishing returns with regards to resists around level 28ish.

Good luck with your sin.

Cheers

Indeed, have fun playing that one. It's wicked fun, although hard to master IMO :)

CoS is a nice bonus, but casting it will leave you slightly vulnerable. So use it, but only when you feel *safe*.

Anyways, the WoF/LS combination works like a charm as someone suggested.
Transferring OW is easily accomplished with a widowmaker switch. (also helps out loads against barbs.. )

Bladeshield has the tendency to pummel any (low tanked, true) sorc you tele-on-top. It also adds sporadic hits that only add to your stunning, and doesnt even require you to do anything apart from cast it before the duel. The disadvantages are ofcourse that it's AR is as low as Blade Fury, it's damage is quite low, and it's duration is too. Still, I find it sometimes tips the balance in my favor in certain duels. (kick can be too slow on the initial kick when dealing with quick necs or sorcs).

Blade Fury is quite nice for PVM. In PVP though, it just doesn't cut it. It requires you to stand still, and in a build that requires mobility, that's a clear nono. It's a bladeshield prereq. though, so a point will be necessary if you decide to take BS.

Depending on the character you're going to be playing, it really depends on your own playstyle. Most kickers (and hybww'ers too) I run across just trap and spam MB and use their melee attack only for the last sliver of life. I usually try to kick as much as possible. Offensive is way more fun to play. For you and for the opponent. (Bar maybe smiters and wwbarbs..)

By the way, what kind of gear are you planning on using?

I hope my gibberish made sense..

Kind regards,

/fung
