What to do with an Eth Caddy?

So I picked up an Eth Caduceus (+3 Concentration, + 2 Charge, 55-64 damage) whilst baaling today and am trying to decide what to do with it. My options seem to be these:

    1. Make it into Eternity
    2. Make it into a stylish CtA
    3. Imbue it (am I right in thinking Eth items stay Eth after imbueing?)
    4. Charsi' the damn thing, bah why aren't there more 5 socket Scepter runewords!

Option 1 at least gives me a use-able weapon, but well there's a reason no one makes Eternity. Option 2 gives me a nice base for a CtA but really has no advantages over any other CtA. In fact the 60 dex, 87 str reqs could quite easily be considered disadvantages. Option 3 is a long shot to get a good item, but would be awful nice if it worked out! And Option 4? Well Charsi never gives a good price for Eth items anyways!

So, what do you guys think?

You cant imbue ethereal or socketed items.

You are sure? Ethereal stuff can be imbued as far as i know(and will stay ethereal), socketed stuff can't

@OP: All first three options are good imo, tho imbuing has the most potential and is the most risky. You might want to give it a chance.

I have on NL an eth caddy with 40ias, fool's and 250ish ed, strength and +meditation....pretty cool weapon if you ask me.

Yea, you can imbue ethereal items, and they stay ethereal. Lot of people imbue ethereal Crystal Swords and Dimensional blades so if they hit a jackpot they can upgrade it to Phase Blade.

Eternity doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look good either. Grief is better for a lower price. For a CtA you wouldn't want those mods, something like redemption, meditation and similar is better, and a War Scepter preferred. I'd imbue it, but the chances are very low so don't get your hopes up.

Imbuing it should get at least some good staff mods - just hope that the rest is good too.

Eternity wouldn't be bad since caddies already have a fast base speed. And you would get some style points :)

Re: What to do with an Eth Caddy?

Well I think I'm going to Imbue it, as rightly pointed out here, neither Eternity nor CtA really make much sense for this. Does anybody have any experience with the 6 Perfect Skull + Rare item Cube recipe, and can tell me if the item stays Eth in that formula?

    Edit: Follow up question
Anyone know the optimal level to imbue if I'm trying to get the best melee mod's (Cruel, Grandmasters, Fool's, of Quickness, etc)? Or should I just go with the highest level character I've got?

I don't know for sure but my guess is that it doesn't stay eth - like for crafting.

Imbueing lets it stay ethereal, afaik. But I'm pretty sure the staff mods will be rerolled. So you'd lose your +3 and +2.

Yea the original staff mods will be destroyed but imbuing is good at spawning them.

Most of the claws i have imbued have come out with 3 staff mods on them, and +3 bonus on most of them

Re: What to do with an Eth Caddy?

I would use your highest lvl char to imbue the caddy
ilvl of imbued item = clvl + 4

if you use the 6 pskull + item method, it won't be ethereal after rolling
well, it could be ethereal but the eth / non eth property is rerolled and chances are it will be non-eth
I wouldn't use the 6 pskull + item formula on this caddy
let's say the caddy when imbued has an ilvl of 90, and your char that with the pskulls is lvl 90

    new ilvl = int(.4 * clvl) + int(.4 * ilvl)
    new ilvl = (.4*90) + (.4*90)
    new ilvl = 72

there are some cool mods that can go on an ilvl 72 caddy, I'm just saying you can burn a lot of pskulls and not end up with a 1337 caddy
