What Song Takes You Back?
Brought on by another post I made, just what the title says: What song takes you back to your childhood, or generally a time you miss?
I've just gone on a e-journey, listening to all the songs I can barely remember being on the radio growing up. This was a tough order, my parents usually kept it on the oldies station, and all of the CDs I liked were Clapton or the like. So I tried hard to remember what CDs my sister had, and, with the aid of Wikipedia and Youtube, was able to hear some of those old songs.
So, for me, the song Allstar by Smashmouth does it every time. I'm sitting in the car, listening to the radio on the drive in to town for groceries, or at my sister's best friend's house, with her radio playing while we play Monopoly.
Alternately, The Way, by Fastball, as well as One Week by Barenaked Ladies.
So, OTF, what songs make you all misty-eyed and whatnot?
