What should I imbue?(For a cs/lf zon)

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, although I have playing D2X for a while now. I mostly play paladins and assassins, but I wanted to try something new, therefore, I planned and started a lighting javazon. It is level 20 now, and my main skills are going to be charged strike and lighning fury. I am also going to have a maxed valk. I will not be using a bow, for LIs, I'm just going to jab them with a spear.

Now to my question, I read somewhere that for this kind of a build, imbue your first maiden javelin. Well...now I have my first maiden javelin, but I'm not sure I want to imbue it. As I mentioned earlier, I am only lvl 20, so I don't have any amazing gear for any armor or weapon slots, so I am open to imbuing any item. However, I would like to imbue a javelin, but when should I do this and what should I imbue at that point. I know many of you will say, 'It's really up to you," but what would you do?

Well, it depends on what your future plans are. If your set on using "Titan's" Jav then you won't need it later to imbue a Jav. If your really hurting right now then use it. I don't have the numbers in front of me but the longer you wait to use an imbue (higher char lev), the better the item will be. I went ahead and used my first (normal) imbue but will wait on the NM and Hell imbues untill I'm a much later level. Some folks have stockpiles of equipment and sometimes don't even use them at all.

I'm not really sure if I will be able to get my hands on a Titans jav. Are they hard to come by? I could trade, but probably not for a while. For now I am doing fine (act III), using a magic throwing spear with 13-37 dmg and 20% increased attack speed. What I'm worried about is later, I'm definite that this weapon will not work in the near future.

Also, I thought you only got one imbue the whole game, this is the first time I've heard that you get 3 imbues (from normal, nightmare and hell).

They are not hard to get, well, the lesser ED% ones arn't. You can usually find someone willing to trade for one. Then again you said you didn't have anything to really trade either. I'd keep looking for better Javs and wait untill you at least get to lev 30 or so before you try to imbue one.

You get 3 imbues, one per level. Once you get to NM level you start over with ALL quest as you did in normal level.

If your playing on Europe Ladder, I can give you one. I came across a guy last night that had 2 and I traded for one of them and he threw in another for free. Some folks are nice like that. Both have a crappy ED% but there are better than nothing. Are you playing on the Europe Ladder? If so message me your account or player name and I'll try to find ya. I'll be on in about 4-6 hours.

you should ask in the trade values forum, because prices fluctuate across realms. for uswest, i would say maybe 2-3 pgems for a bad one, shael for a mediocre one, pul for a near perf one, and ist+ for etherals.

if i don't have any decent jav at all (in which case i wouldn't start a javazon, but...) i would imbue a hyperion javelin for the speed and throw/melee damage. this almost always gives a usuable weapon immediately. after i get my playing weapons, i always imbue etheral mat javs. i haven't gotten a decent one yet. i think i'm going to do some etheral balrog spears and hyperion javs, as the possible +skills on a mat jav just can't make up for the lack of melee damage on them.

I've got about 4 titans sitting around... they're amazingly common these days...

I personally prefer to save all my imbues until the highest level, then use them on circlets (diadems?), for best affixes possible.
