what rules do you mf chars follow??

well mine are simple.

1 must have atleast 75% res all in hell.

2 must survive more then 2 hits from any monster

3 must have a way to deal with any monster

4 can not use charges on items

5 must be able to solo hell on players 1

so thats mine what is yours???

Pretty simple here too...

1. must be able to solo hell players 8 (or 1 if made as some specific boss killer)
2. must do it reasonably fast in atleast one good MF area
3. must be able to survive in that area well

Basically that'd be how I'd make them from now on. The hammerdin can do it all on players8 and that's what I've been doing. If I ever make another MF guy/gal, it'll most likely be VegaSorc for Meph and Pindle, as my hammerdin has closed the portal to Pindle :p

Sure I didn't care about it then...now it'd be useful to have open...grr...

1. Lots of killing power.
2. Able to handle any situation, regardless of health issues.
3. Able to defeat anything that poses as a threat. Even if immune to all used attacks.
4. Minimum of 250% MF.
5. Must have at least 16 open spaces to pick up items.
6. Must taste like chicken sandwich.

mine are the same except i have one more rule...
6 the have to run baal under 6 minutes, mephi under 2 and pit under 10 :lol:

None of my characters are, or ever will be (probably), designed purely for MFing, so they must simply meet the requirements of being able to kill stuff in Hell, stay alive (especially in HC) and wear some MF items.

I try to have maxed resists on all my characters anyway, as a matter of neatness. The character screen looks untidy unless all 4 of those numbers are 75 or better :)

1-survive the area i want to mf

2-Able to run when gloams are sighted

3- Able to snipe gloams off

4-Able to teleport(through ammy/enigma/skill/naj staff)

5-Ability to kill boss fast

6-16 spaces to pick up items

Kill stuff while wearing plenty of MF. Since I tend to favour ranged characters (in fact, the highest I ever had a melee character was a Martial Arts assassin in Act 3 Nightmare, and that was in 1.09) resists are less important to me than things like Faster Run/Walk (or Faster Cast Rate for teleporting Sorcs)--I'd rather get out of trouble quickly than stay around to tank the damage!

Trouble is, because I don't have the best items I have difficulty fulfilling both the "kill quickly" and "high MF" ideals in Hell, but until I can get a decent Hell item runner I can't get the best items...QED. I'm sure others have encountered this problem and got round it before, though...
