Just wondering, which rare items are the ones you never neglect to pick up?!
Druid pelts, rings, barb helmets, amulets - in that exact order
assa claws, circlets, jewels, barb & druid helms, amulets, rings, gloves, boots, belts, eth weapons... maybe I spend too much time on it
I like to pick up rare jewelry, gloves, boots, belts, and weapons of any quality provided their potential elite base is good; i.e. generally I'll pick up rare crystal swords but not rare war swords. Also all circlets, of course. Sometimes assassin claws and Barb/druid helms depending on how thorough and methodical I feel like being. I never pick up rare armor or helms.
Pretty much this. If it can be an end-game best in slot for any build, I normally snag it.
Rings, amulet, gloves, boots, circlets, some weapon types, sometimes belts.
Runic / Greater Talons always. Feral / Greater Claws when I feel like it.
Circlets & rings always, amulets most of the time.
Crystal Sword types, Amazon Javelins, Circlets, Gloves, Rings, Amulets. Some time belts and boots.
Every. Single. One.
Ok, you guys pick up more than I though. This brings me a few more questions.
Can rare amulets be as good as a craft one?
Why pick up belts? What would a godly rare belt provide?
Also crystal swords?
Do the Runic and Greater Talons have a greater chance of being better? Cause I am tired of picking every assassin Claws.
They're the fastest base types-- the only -30 WSM claws there are.
Crystal swords (and Dimensional Blades) can be upgraded to Phase Blades. That's the only way one can obtain an ethereal Phase Blade.
I never bother with belts any more as crafted or the uniques are better.
Rare amulets can only get 10FCR, so no. Without FCR Highlord’s or Maras are better. Well you can beat Maras but it is hard.
I don’t get the Crystal Sword thing. Base damage is low on a PB, so it isn’t a big deal. RWs are better, even Vanilla.
Pelts, Fury Visor etc, claws, every swords, all jewelry, elite-armors, boots, gloves, belts, well almost everything! Same thing with blue-items
I always pick up rings, amulets, throwing weapons, circlets. and jewels. Slightly less frequently I pick up pelts. And sometimes I'll pick up belts, gloves, boots, and other weapons (usually being claws and eth crystal swords/dimensional blades) when the mood strikes me.
A good rare belt is little more than a novelty to me. That's why I don't often pick them up. But a high strength, 24 fhr, high life, multi res belt is certainly cool. Same thing goes for crystal swords. An eth one with a perfect ed roll will never out-damage a grief pb, but again, they're sexy as all hell. imagine a 400+ ed, 40 ias, 2os, dual leech eth pb. Cool for sure, but won't beat most high-end runewords. Again, its about novelty, which is most of d2 almost 20 years after its release
Yes and no, depends do you need only 10 fcr or more for character. Problem is amulets need ilvl 90 to get +2 skills which means you can't pick godly one from monsters except few bosses. Best way to go about it is by gambling them.
Best option for goldfind characters who don't time travel (unless player crafts them and needs fcr on them). Apart from that... nothing that isn't beaten by Arachnid Mesh.
Generally; rings, amulets, belts, boots, gloves, claws, circlets, pelts. At the moment, I'm checking basically all elite bases because I need gear for future rare-only characters.
You should pick up all bases because cube upgrade formulas
...and let the insanity resume.
Except. and elite claws, boots (sometimes), rings, amulets, tiara/diadems, gloves. Depends a lot on my mood and what char I'm planning.
In normal and nightmare, pretty much only where my chinks in equipment is and that which usually yields good money (jewelry and staffmod items).
When I reach Hell:
Pelts, belts, most weapons but amazon only javelins and melee weapons in general specifically, most orbs, all jewelry, every boot and glove I come by, barbarian hats, but these do not religiously get picked up. They're a good gold source, though. Sometimes when I'm running AT for example, I try to break this habit, but mostly it breaks my heart.
Yeah, I'm not efficient
